I feel like I'm posting a lot.

Oh well, you just get to hear all my unfiltered thoughts. Especially during the day when I'm bored at work.

Anyway.

I started driving home in the rain and about halfway I noticed that my antenae on my truck was white and it turns out it had iced up and so was my entire truck just about so I abandoned my plan to make a stop and went right home. I did get more things done here at home though: I started gathering seeds for my exchanges that I'm doing, I printed label and packed an ebay sale, and I did a little bit of company sidejob. I also worked out and remembered why I hate running and especially hate treadmills. But cardio is good even though I hate it.

They make me dizzy when I get off. Weird and annoying but I got my stretching done.

Now I'm laying in bed, listening to the rain.

Yay, prudence with respect to weather!

(We've got another 12 hours of freezing drizzle to go, here. Got in early at the dentist because people are cancelling. It's walking distance and I have traction spikes, so no trouble to crunch on over.

And then it's going to go up to well above freezing around midnight and maybe thunderstorm. Go home, Thor, you're drunk.)

Skating is cardio; hope it turns into an option!

Yay! ice-free roads.

(We have freezing drizzle, it's just below freezing and there is fog, and while the street looks clear out my window people are actually driving slower. So I'm glad I don't have to go out there!)

The traction spikes are these things, sold as "Icers". Roughly a studded tire sandal. And while one can walk over concrete with them (unlike the Kahtoola equivalent, ideal for "apparently the other users of this multi-use pathway are penguins" conditions), they work best on big heavy boots which is a discouragement from universal use.

i like a lot of posts, it makes me feel less bad about me making a ton of posts, lol.

re: dizziness after treadmills-- I was told during roller derby never ever ever ever to do intensive cardio and then stop. you always have to cut your intensity down half, then half, then half, for several minutes, and then keep walking/gliding for a while afterward, until you are no longer out of breath. stopping quickly means blood can pool and you might pass out, and will likely feel dizzy. you have to keep moving. i don't know if that's a factor but i personally, on the very rare occasions i've used treadmills, have had dreadful difficulty in stepping my activity level down in any meaningful way and not just stopping cold.
I also just... am not coordinated enough to use them. i panicked the entire time i was on one. i don't do well with exercise machines.
