This weekend was fun. Thursday driving out and back to Utica went well, skipping the blow out game was perfectly fine. I worked Friday from home and did a little bit of house work and made food.

Then Saturday I stopped by the grocery store to pick up more snacks and such, then drove straight to Utica. I brought a cooler for the food I packed. It was miserable driving, windy and raining. Very high winds. But I wasn't in a rush and got to the arena early. First game that day, Germany vs Switzerland for placement in group A was the best game all day. The other two weren't very fun since Canada and USA wiped the floor with the other teams.

I still hate the USA fans.

Late morning yesterday since the bronze medal game wasn't until 1pm, so me and the friend staying with me left the hotel late and then got hot chocolate downtown. Got a picture with Ashley "Stretch" Johnston, who was an OG Riveter and she's so tall. And very cool.

Bronze medal game was AMAZING. It went to overtime for 10 mins, then a shootout and all the players were so dang tired by the end. Finland won and both goalies played super well. Really fun game and the crowd was really great. Ooohing and aahing everytime anyone did anything at either end.

Then the gold medal game of USA and Canada. This was the funniest possible ending to this tournament. The previous game between them had ended 1-0. This ended 5-6 in overtime, those poor goalies. USA accidently had four players on the ice in overtime, got a penalty called for it obviously and then Canada scored with two seconds left on said penalty. Extremely funny. I headed for the door as soon as they scored because I wanted to hit the road. Turns out the cops had closed the main exit for no discernable reason so I had to find the back exit. It only took 15 mins to get to the main highway thankfully. No issues getting home.

I highly recommend going to a women's world tournament if you can, they're so much fun! I'm hoping to go to more in the future but this was an incredible way to get to watch a lot of fun hockey. Over 9 days, I saw 19 games in 7 game days with two break days in the middle. I learned a ton more about teams and players that I didn't know a ton about and I got to see USA fans disappointed which is one of my favorite things. 2025 is in Czechia which I definitely won't make but Canada is set to host another senior worlds and two U18 worlds in the next three or four years, so I might get a chance to do this again.

I had so much fun. I drove in Saturday morning to Utica, getting there pretty early compared to when the game started at 3. So I spent some time wandering around Utica, mostly being weirded out. It's a strange place. It's almost as if they've torn down most of their old buildings over the years and put up a bunch of new stuff. Weirdest part is that all of the new buildings never touch each other. There would be old rundown building fronts with the sides cleaned up and painted. The streets didn't make any sense and were very wide. Clearly they were trying to improve the city, there was both public and private construction projects but the vibes were strange. Felt very rust belt city except they didn't like, preserve anything of the old city really. I wandered around Saturday morning around 11am and there were literally three places open for business, two coffee shops and one sit down breakfast place. Odd city. It was chilly on Saturday.
oh this is some rambling )

I did a lot of sidejob work this weekend, trying to catch up which I almost did, then got another two plan requests yesterday so I'm back to having 5 plans in the queue. I suspect I'll be close to 30 hours of work on sidejob stuff by the time March is over. Yay money but also ugh. I watched hockey games, playoff season for the PHF and NCAA, so I watched all the games this weekend and then didn't watch last night's game between the Whale and the Six. Glad I didn't because the Whale lost. The final is Sunday night at 9pm which is terrible but I'll still watch it because it should be some really fun hockey.

B also came over Sunday afternoon, mostly to hang out. By that point, I was sick of staring at computers and went and did some baking, so I got two loaves of bread rising, then waited until she arrived, then made the fiddly ice cream from egg whites that is honestly incredible, just annoying to sit and stir on the double boiler.  One loaf of break went in the freezer up here for eating in the next two weeks, and one went in the storage freezer for this summer. My decision to start making my own bread really was a good idea, the sandwich loaf from America's Test Kitchen How Can It Be Gluten Free is such a good bread and is pretty flexible on the flour. As long as I give it enough rise time, it handles the coarser ground flours that I grind myself. Plus I'm able to slice it into very thin slices and so it goes a lot further. It isn't cheaper in time but a loaf lasts me two weeks and the $8 loaf from Canyon Bakehouse only lasts a week, it's tastier, I can use ingredients that I've grown myself (sorghum) or grind myself (white rice flour) and so it's worth it in a lot of ways.

B and I fiddled with her Electric Eel Wheel Nano 2, which was struggling to take up the yarn she was spinning. Turns out the tension knob wouldn't hold any tension with the elastic band so she's going to replace it. I did get it to take up if I pulled on the band enough to get the elastic to catch on itself partially stretched, so it's also only a matter of time before the band breaks doing that. She's much improving on spinning, it's delightful to see! We are planning a trip to Webs and Osgoods next time she visits because I need weaving supplies (boat shuttles and weaving yarn since I don't spin fast enough to keep the loom occupied) and Osgoods is a mill ends fabic store, so we can pick up cheap fabric for things. I want to start sewing things from handwoven and thus, need fabric to practice with first.

The snow is melting quickly, it's 50F all this week although the mornings have been very cold. It's also supposed to rain Thursday. And Saturday.

Last week was pretty rough. Conference preparation went well and we went into it as prepared as we could be but conferences are stressful, full of silly occurrences and there's always too many people. About four people total wore masks including me, and then there was a few hotel staff who also were wearing masks. I've been happy with my N95s and I managed to not be the person checking growers in, but getting their nametags so I was partially facing away from them. Not that it would have made a difference given how small the area of our check in tables were. Oh well.

And then this morning, got the email that someone on our team and a speaker tested positive so *shrugs* I'll test this week but I'm probably good. It's almost as if no one wearing masks is bad actually.

After the conference each day, I went home, walked Mara and then took a rest in my bed for as long as I could. It wasn't super restful because after evening walks is Mara's borking hour, the time when she borks at nothing really. So it was loud.

The two evening seed lectures went well, I taught for one of them about legume seed production and it went well. Right before the second one, my coworker who had only helped with Wed of the conference was like, "are you okay, because I'm exhausted" and at the time I was shoveling frozen mac and cheese into my face and that was really bringing me back.

Thursday morning was the snow/ice/rain storm but the plows were sort of out that morning and I bet that the roads would be better earlier in the morning, so I left before 7am and drove to the hotel. Went in various sections in 4 wheel drive and going 35, mainly backroads that were mostly snowy still. Worst section was actually the main highways because it had turned to slick slush between the lanes, so I flipped it to 4wheel for merging and sharper turns. I got to the hotel no problem with only an extra 10 minutes due to slow driving. I think the morning commute got rained on but I missed it and by the time I left at 4 that afternoon, it was all good.

I took Friday off and sat and spun yarn pretty much the whole day. It was awesome.

Saturday, I ran for groceries and as a reward for doing that, allowed myself the rest of the morning to make fig newtons. They turned out a little odd, too much moisture in the dough but very delicious as always. I had sidejob work requests piling up over the past two weeks, so that afternoon, I buckled down and got three of them done. I'll keep working on those this week and should make a dent in the remaining ones.

Sunday I went to the last Whale home game. It was a super fun game, the crowd was really excited and some of the discord folks came to the game and met me in the stands for a bit. There was also an autograph line afterwards and I got some things signed. It was Shannon Turner's last home game before she retires (she's played for the whale for 8 years since the beginning of the league and has been captain for like six of those) and even when the team was doing terrible, she was still cheerful and having a good time and it was so great, so I told her that and she hugged me. So that was nice.

Hopefully a more relaxing week this week, seems like it so far. We had an inch of snow Saturday and we are due for 5-8 inches tonight into tomorrow so I'm prepared to go nowhere.

I don't think a ton of people I know on here are into women's hockey and also in the right area, but I'll post it anyway.

For PHF folks, I have single tickets for two Connecticut Whale games (1/23 & 3/13) that I can no longer attend (due to move). If you are or know someone who'd like to go and haven't bought a ticket yet, I'd be happy to forward them on to you!

Hockey yesterday was excellente, the teams are definitely a little rusty, I know some teams couldn't do a full practice and others were split over the USA-Canada border but the hockey was so much fun to watch.

I ran to the grocery stores and got what feels like two months of groceries. Restocked on all the important baking supplies and I think when I run out of sugar next, I'm going to look at Amazon since I have a gift card. Seems silly but hey, whatever.

I made cookies yesterday and I was planning to make sausage ricotta calzones today but between groceries and hockey games later, I don't have a ton of time. Plus the sausage isn't thawed yet. I'm feeling laaaazy today.

This year's women's hockey calendar is live!

Here is the link.

I am only using TeamUp this year for the calendar because I don't have the ability to keep up with two calendars. I'm still working on adding the Naisten Liiga and Russian WHL games into the but most are entered through November. The first PWHPA games were added since they are playing Friday and Saturday. The entire SDHL season has been entered and if you are outside of Sweden, they are offering a whole season streaming package that is around $115 USD.

As of right now, the NWHL season is starting in January 2021, the AWIHL season is cancelled. Most IIHF games are still on for this season and I will add those dates soon.

Some information isn't available yet but links to where to watch are on the lower left hand side of the page. You can change which leagues you want to view by clicking the bars on the left side to de-select leagues. If you click the eye, you will select only that league.

The calendar should auto change times to your timezone - if not, go to upper right hand corner, click the three bars for a menu. Click the time zone bar, it will pop up a box. Check the "show all timezones" box and then select the time zone from the drop down menu and hit save.

I update this based on schedules posted on websites and social media early in the season, so if things change mid-season I might not catch it. This has happened before. Time zones also might be wonky because daylight savings time makes stuff weird.

If you want to move things from this calendar to your own, you can click an event and hit share. I used to maintain a google calendar, but I am no longer doing this because maintaining two calendars was difficult.

If you have any questions, comments, etc, feel free to email me at fanwoho@gmail.com

I kept meaning to write this post at home because it's easier to do pictures on my computer but I keep forgetting. So no pictures except maybe on my instagram.

I went to the NWHL All Star Weekend! It was awesome and amazing!

It was in Boston this year, and I brought Jade along and we made a weekend of it.

The Skills Competition was 8pm Saturday and the Game was 2:30 Sunday, so we drove to Boston Saturday morning. I just parked in the ice arena's parking garage because I'd been there once before and it was easier. Then we walked maybe 15 minutes to the nearest light rail line and took that into downtown. It was maybe an hour total time but totally worth it because parking was lots cheaper and I didn't have to drive in Boston proper, which would have been a nightmare.

We got off the subway right at the cemetary where Paul Revere was buried and it had all sorts of neat graves, so that was super cool. Then we walked to the aquarium where we saw all kinds of coolio fish and penguins. It was very good. A little smaller than I expected but very neat.

Then we headed back to the arena and one of the other fans on twitter/twitch had organized a meetup, so we met up with them and got burgers that were decent but very close to the arena. They were all lovely people and I ended up hanging out with them all weekend. We got in line to get into the arena very early and then checked out the merch once we got in and I'm glad because I got a great hoodie and a signed puck. I also got a picture with the Isobel Cup, which is very shiny.

The Skill Competition was incredible! It's a lot of fun to watch and probably to participate. I think my favorite event was the relay race, which was hysterically funny and very fast. They did some great on ice interviews with the winners of each event including one where Anya Packer interviewed her wife and called her the first loser of the shooting event, to which Madison gave her a very bad and funny interview.

Then Jade and I went back to the hotel I booked, which was a funky artsy hotel but in a tasteful way. I was amazed. I didn't know artsy things could be tasteful. It was Studio Allston Hotel and it was only $160 per night, which was much cheaper than most of the hotels in the area. I highly recommend because it was a very nice hotel. One of the elevators had party music and lights.

Then sunday, we hung around in the hotel until checkout time because I was very tired, staying up past my bedtime and I also didn't sleep super well, which is typical. The breakfast they served had the best muffins ever.

At 11:15, there was a skating with the All Stars event at the arena, which actually ended up being mostly take pictures with players and skate around a bit. I stuck with one of my new meetup friends because she couldn't skate and sometimes needed to be pulled around with her skate support. I also skated over and asked players to take pictures with us because she just couldn't go fast. I attempted to teach her a little but I was not very good at it.

During the skate, Hanna Beattie came over to me! and said they saw my sign!! and said she was glad I could make it and they liked that they could tell when I was around because of my signs!!! I was amazed she recognized me because omg she'd seen me TWICE in the autograph line and somehow recognized me on the ice and not wearing any whale gear. It was SO COOL.

So that was a blast.

Then the actual All Star Game happened at 2:30 and it was so much fun! It was exciting and there were a few penalties but no one was really playing like it was a regular game with a lot of contact. It was super cool and fun to watch. I wanted to stay for autographs but I knew the line would be really long and we hit the road. There was a minor issue that I had forgotten to eat enough during the day, and snapped at Jade but I apologized. I ate two pieces of pizza on the drive home, which actually was a mistake because it made me really tired. We had taken my truck and Jade can't drive stick so I had to power through. We made one pit stop which helped and then we were home by 8ish.

It was so much fun. I wish I had taken monday off work because I think the extra day of laying around would have really helped me because I am still so tired from it. But there were things I had to get done monday. omg fun. I don't know if I'll ever be able to get to another one, but it was so much fun and so wonderful to go to.

Things have been busy. I say that a lot.

Last week and this weekend was particularly busy, getting back into the swing of work last week and then adventures this weekend.

So this weekend I went to a spinning meetup, where I got some great advice on adjusting my wheel, had a great time and got some spinning done. (A thing I'm doing now is streaming on twitch while I spin, which is fascinating because there is a whole crafting community that streams on there.). I spun a lot last week and finished my green yarn, started plying it on the drop spindle, which I shouldn't have to do any more if I get the wheel adjusted properly, spun two of three bobbins of alpaca, bought some more roving from someone on ravelry. I actually just finished plying and putting the green yarn into a skein and it is about 560 yards, which is A Lot. Coolio. It's soft af.

A varigated white to dark green yarn hangs down from photographer's arm.

A varigated white to green skein of yarn is held in my hand.

Then there was five hockey games to watch online, three PWHPA and two NWHL. At some point, I had to turn off the PWHPA games and just run the two NWHL games because my wifi wasn't happy but I'm watching them this week.

Sunday, I dropped the dog at day care and drove to boston. I went to the Connecticut Whale-Boston Pride game and it was awesome. The Whale didn't win, but they didn't lose hard and looked really good while playing. The arena was packed, I got my Selander jersey signed after and a poster signed by the whole Pride team and the drive back wasn't the worst. I left around 9:30 that morning, got back at 8:30 after picking up the dog, so not too bad.

I'm a lot less concerned about the whale because they won their game on saturday! they did awesome! It was thrilling to watch!

I don't have like, any pictures because I forgot to take some but I also took posters for the whale and put them up.

I loved it so much that I'm going to try and get to the Whale-Pride game at the end of February, which is offsite in Bridgeport, CT. But I now know the daycare thing works for Mara, so I'm going to give it a try.

unicornduke: (Default)
I went to a Whale game yesterday and then drove to PA this morning, so you know, a lot of driving in two days but it's fine. Totally worth it because it was such a close game. The Whale still lost but they made it really hard for the Whitecaps. I usually have the twitch stream up on my phone so I can update the chat there and because I like the chat. At one point, they were struggling with the arena wifi, the stream went out and the chat said I should do the play by play. there was some internal screaming on my end lmao but thankfully they got the stream back up before anything happened.

It was a super fun game to watch and the Whale were SO CLOSE

I also finally got one of my signs autographed. I take signs to the games and tape them to the glass and I had enough time to wait around for a few minutes. The teams all have autograph lines after the game and the Whale's was pretty short, so they autographed my sign and chatted with me. I was queer and embarrassing because they are all women who could probably take me out in an instant and all incredibly cute and I don't know if I made actual eye contact with any of them. So you know, awkward queer here.

They apparently like my signs :)

It was awesome.

I also grabbed two tickets to the NWHL All-Star weekend which is being held in Boston Feb 8-9. They just went on sale today and I know the arena isn't super huge so they will probably sell out quickly. I just sent the dog sitter a message since this will be an overnight thing. Now I just need to get a hotel.

In other news, the PWHPA has announced two stops in January and February in Toronto and Philly. I wish I could get to the Philly games arg. The other thing that has come up in the past few months is that, the original PWHPA plan was actually to cause the NWHL to fold so the NHL would step in and create a league and.....that's a horrible plan. Like. All around. Like, I get you don't want to play in the NWHL, but the NHL doesn't give a single shit and they never have. I don't know why they would help now. They aren't going to throw a bunch of money at the players and say, here you go. The PWHPA also were apparently pressuring younger players not to play in the NWHL which. hmmmm, don't like that much.

The main problem with this is that it isn't actually a boycott/strike if you aren't negotiating with the party you are boycotting. Which they aren't at all. This is more like a bunch of employees left their jobs, which they have every right to! I understand why they would leave! But they seem to be acting like this is just like the Team USA boycott in 2017, including using the same kind of language when that was such a different situation. Of course the NWHL is going to keep going and hire new employees (on that note, players in the NWHL are considered employees and have health insurance. Next step as fans is to support the league and get them to raise salaries) if their employees left. That's how a business works.

Anyway. I can find sources on that stuff if you're interested. More hockey next weekend! I don't know if the Whale will beat Boston, but they can give it a go.

Went to the Connecticut Whale game today and it was fucking awesome!

The drive was easy, no one drives on the Taconic and the ice rink in Danbury was less than a mile from 84, so easy on and off. There was a parking garage right next to the rink and everyone was a reasonable driver except the two people in front of me pulling into the parking garage because they didn't want to pay for parking (???) and turned around in the entrance.

Total drive time was a little over 2 hours one way, so I left around 9:30 to get there early for a 12:30 puck drop and got back at 5:30. I can shave off some time by getting there closer to puck drop but overall, not too bad time wise!

The rink was freeeeeezing and I hadn't brought a blanket because I wasn't sure how it all would go. I will bring a blanket next time but I still need to figure out how to keep my feet warm, that is still a mystery.

I put up my whale pun sign on the glass.

A white sign is laying on a brown coffee table. It says "where there's a whale, there's a way" except instead of the word whale, it's a drawing of the CTW logo.

I'm watching four hockey games this weekend, three of them live.

One was last night, at local university. It was pretty bad hockey but kinda fun anyway. Second game this afternoon at the uni at 3. Then watching the BUF-BOS game on the interwebz at 6:30 and tomorrow, I'm driving down to Danbury, CT for the BUF-CTW game, the first pro game I'm seeing this year! The drive is a little bit, 2 1/4 hours but there's absolutely no traffic, which makes it a feasible drive. I went down to Newark last year and while the drive said 2 3/4, it ended up being 3 or more depending on traffic.

I took the dog to the park this morning, right before sunrise and I bundled up. Mara enjoyed it. Then I hit up the farmers market, michaels for sign supplies and target for a spice grinder. I talked to A Farm folks about helping with turkey processing next weekend and they said Sunday would be a better day to help. I might make a blueberry pie since I'll have time next saturday. Spice grinder is for cardamom because Jade said the blueberry cardamom pie thingy tasted really good so I'll probably make it again but with an actual crust.

I'm making a sign for the CTW game tomorrow, cheering them on. It's going to say "Where there's a whale, there's a way" except with a whale drawn in. I'll need to come up with another whale pun for the next game I go to.

I still need to do laundry today but I'll probably leave that for later tonight. I finished the spinning needed for Jade's christmas present and I've suddenly started second guessing myself on it. I'm sure she'll like the colors but I'll probably grab something else in case she doesn't really wear them.

This is a crosspost from the pillowfort Women's Hockey community that I made.

The PWHPA has annouced their Dream Gap Tour, with details at this link here.  They are having weekend game showcases between teams. Announced locations are Toronto, Hudson, NH, and Chicago. They are also having an exhibition game against Boston College and one against San Jose Sharks Alumni. I think in one of the news articles, they mentioned more happening later, with Buffalo as a potential location. All the games currently on the schedule are played in the next two months.

The Toronto leg of the tour just released tickets and information here, playing the weekend of Sept 21-22. They are playing four games between four teams over the weekend and they have some big sponsors including Budweiser Canada, who are sponsoring the streaming, which will be on their website. One cool thing is that you can buy virtual tickets and that money will go to kids who might not be able to go to a game.

NWHL announced this morning that they are partnering with Twitch to stream all of their games for three years, including this season. It will include the Isobel Cup Final and any other special games like the All-Star Game. It doesn't look like pre-season games are included since they specified all regular season games will be streamed. While you get perks and things if you make a Twitch account, you don't need an account to watch games.

This is slightly older (lol 2 weeks old) news, the Swedish national team is on strike until they are compensated fairly. The have had a lot of issues with their federation in the past few years and it all has come to a head. They have already missed the Euro Hockey Tour, and Sweden is hosting the 4 Nations Cup in November, so there is international embarrassment on the line for the federation if they can't have a team play. The players are unionized, which should greatly help their cause.

I'm also going to re-post the link to the calendar I made again, for when games are being played. The PWHPA, NWHL, IIHF and SDHL are currently listed on there. It is pretty USA/Canada centric but if you think I should add any other leagues, let me know (with a focus on leagues that stream games, I may still add the AWIHL, Finland's league and Russia's league). I'm working on ways to have a single shareable calendar that you can hide the leagues you don't want to see schedules for, but that will probably be for next season or later this year (I did find a good candidate! still in progress.). I'm also only able to do some tasks on a computer, and currently the internet is out at my house so I'm doing my best to update it when I get computer access and as news comes up.

How the frick do people stay warm at mostly empty hockey games. I bring a blanket and hoodie/coat every time and I still end up partially chilly and there are some people here in shorts and tshirts.

I mean, right now I'm sick, so I understand but I've been to plenty other games and I'm still cold.
unicornduke: (Default)
Got up and immediately got extremely tired so no baking.

I'm cross posting this from the woho community on pillowfort where I posted it

Hi everyone!

It's been quiet on on the community, despite the chaos of this current off season. I put together this calendar, similar to one I did around the spring of last year so I can keep track of woho games currently happening.

Leagues/orgs currently on the calendar: NWHL, SDHL, IIHF,  and some USA/CAN games coming up.

When we find out more from the PWHPA on exhibition games they may be putting on, I will get them on the calendar. Once we get closer to major tournaments and those schedules are released, I'll add those on as well.

I will probably also put the AWIHL games on there. My aim is to have leagues that stream their games online posted as well as special events happening. I'm not sure yet if I will be posting Liiga Naiset (Finland's league) or the ZhHL/WHL (Russia's league) games on here, mainly because I don't know if they will be streaming any games and I'm having a lot of difficulty finding schedules.

Okay, some searching tells me that the WHL streams their games on their youtube page and I have found a schedule. One reason I may add them is that the Kunlun Vanke Rays are now playing in their league this year. Let me know if you think I should add them.

Other than that, get ready because hockey season is coming!

unicornduke: (Default)
I'm going to go bake something in a few minutes so I stop posting things (and also so I have something to take over to the farm tomorrow when I got to ripple) but I've been looking at schedules for hockey seasons and since the Connecticut Whale moved to Danbury, CT, I actually will go to more games than I did. The half hour closer cuts my total time by at least an hour, if not more due to lack of traffic in comparison to Stamford or Newark (Riveters). I put some games on my schedule and I'm pretty excited to be honest! I don't think I can make any hockey games, including NCAA until November due to my schedule conflicting in late september and then both local NCAA and CTW playing away games most of october.

but hockey! soon!

but yeah, 2 hours and 15 minutes to a game arrived an hour early (I love watching warmups), 2ish hours for the game, and 2 hrs 15 minutes back puts me at about 7.5 hours total, which is really really good in comparison to 9 hours that it was last year. I did make it to one Riveters game, but it was a long day and a long drive back. the other advantage is that I don't need to take 87, which is so crowded down near NYC.

Yay hockey!
unicornduke: (Default)
I'm watching the Para Ice Hockey worlds tournament hosted by the Czech Republic and honestly, the USA team has some really awesome/funny pants and I think all the USA hockey teams need them. It might also be a part of the sled but also, I think all team USA athletes should wear pants with this pattern because it's extremely tacky.

Two para hockey players, one from USA and one from Canada, face each other over the faceoff dot. The USA player has very tacky USA flag shorts on.
unicornduke: (Default)
The Aurora Games is "a first of its kind sports and entertainment festival featuring world class competition in women’s tennis, gymnastics, basketball, figure skating, ice hockey and beach volleyball. All-star teams made up of athletes who have accounted for over 100 Olympic, World and National championships from The Americas vs The World, will be led by honorary captains Jackie Joyner Kersee and Nadia Comaneci as they compete for the Babe Didrikson Zaharias Trophy."

And it's in Albany!!!!

They've got an ice hockey event! In August! So exciting! Olympians will be there! Like, it looks super fucking awesome!

They've also got two things the Wed and Thurs before the hockey game that are meet and greets and practices up in Glens Falls, which is fucking awesome. So. I know what I'm doing in August. I might take vacation days. Wow.

 Yesterday's accomplishment:

I irritated the IIHF Twitter person from saying "too many men on the ice" to "too many players on the ice" by tweeting at them every time they said men.

Because it's Women's Worlds: there are no men on the ice.
