oh it's like. going not in order. it has been almost three o'clock like five times today but just now it finally went. phew.

It was so weird, like, I'd check the time, do something, check the time and only like two minutes had passed when I was sure it was more like ten. My boss just told me to go home at like 3 because both of us were feeling like that.

I spent all day working furiously on things, and they'd be taking forever so I'd be multitasking on things, and I looked up and it was suddenly 10:30 and I was like shit coworker gets in at 11 I better get some shit done by then, and ran around in circles for like an hour and it was... 10:38.
So I ran around a bunch more, got nothing done, he showed up and it really was 11:30 because he was late, and then suddenly it was 1pm and I hadn't gotten anything else done either??? ??? ???
and then it was 2 and then it was still 2 like an hour later, and we joked about it and then it was still 2pm and we were both like, ok, this is weird as fuck.
It finally hit 3 and I got a couple of things done and then it was 4 and I had forgotten to do the thing I do at 2!! yikes!!! but there wasn't anything in the "do at 2" filter so it was fine. and then it was 4:15 for like an hour and a half, and then suddenly it was after 5 and I had to go.

Still without finishing more than about a quarter of what I'd meant to do.

my main issue is that March is the least busy month for work: all the trial stuff from last year is already wrapped up, we finished our conference stuff a couple of weeks ago, summer stuff isn't happening yet and no one really wants to work on this year's trial preparation so I'm just fucking around on the internet.

I've mostly been trying to work on my field stuff because at least that is vaguely related to work when I'm in the same office as my boss. When I go to the north office, I can do whatever because I have my own little cubicle where no one can really get behind me.

Like, I'm trying at least a little bit of this year's stuff done but there's only so much I can push the specialists because they're still doing stuff.

So I spent today reading about cover crops, which I'm interested in but gets boring SO FAST.

why is time like this. And it seems like all my out of work time goes by so quick.

That's my issue with work-- it's not so much a Slow Season for us (though it's not that busy), but that everything we have to do is kind of grinding boring work now. When there are a lot of orders to process you can let time fly by, but when you're like, going through catalogs to manually generate listings on different platforms for things, and then eBay's not letting you upload images so you have to work around it, and like.... ugh...
And a lot of it, I have to give myself a secondary task to stay focused, and since no one cares that much, I'll do something like embroidery or making hexagons or writing fic, and sometimes that works great-- while the database is loading, I sew a little, or whatever-- but sometimes it works terribly and I look up and realize I've been sewing for 20 minutes and the database loaded 19.5 minutes ago and just timed out on me.

What gets me, super hard, is what you said, though, where I spend the vast majority of my coherent waking hours sitting in a room I dislike doing unimportant tasks, and then when I'm at home I have so much I need to do that I wind up sort of paralyzed by indecision until I'm too tired to do any of it, and then the next day I'm trapped in this little room again thinking about all the shit I need to do until I am too tired and frazzled to do it! It's amazing!
