 Surprise puppies are great only if you can give them back when they are annoying.

my brother brought his brand new puppy (3 mths) with him, surprising all of us because we didn't know he'd even gotten a dog and now we're dealing with high energy puppy shenanigans even though they ran her a lot earlier. If this keeps up tomorrow, me and mara are going to sleep in the camper.

I am so sorry!

The project manager at work has a new puppy -- an Irish Wolfhound! -- who makes an amazing range of sad noises because the human is five feet away. It's kinda cute, but it wouldn't be were I having to deal with the actual puppy.

Yeah, I really love puppies, but not enough to deal with one. That's the joy of playing with someone else's puppy, you can give them back when they get annoying. She was pretty well behaved except for the usual puppy shenanigans but I think everyone is happier to be away after a weekend.
