 I am Tired today.

I tried to go to bed early but ended up reading for a while because the anxiety weasels were running and I couldn't sleep. I did actually get up at my second alarm so not too bad. Everything feels flat and unreal right now, not sure if it's the lack of sleep or something else. I'll even out eventually but it makes it hard to do things. I was going to bake muffins last night and got the butter out to soften, stood up to make them and was abruptly exhausted so I didn't.

I've got ice skating lessons tonight so that should help.

I need to find a night light that is small, portable but also has a light that is bright enough to read by but not so bright that it hurts. I've got a little one I used while camping that is palm sized but it has bright or "candlelight" and the second is too dim to read by. I usually flip it so the light faces down against my pillow on bright setting.

the apartment is really gross, I haven't cleaned in a while and jade doesn't really. She does the dishes and stuff, which is awesome. But I haven't vacuumed and just got the trash emptied this morning. My room is also a mess that needs to get cleaned but I didn't have the energy to put my laundry away so eh. I'll figure it out.

Also if you're interested in women's international hockey, the SDHL Championship game is happening right now and you can watch for free here.

Catching a cold?

Need more red meat in your diet?

These guys have some very good battery lanterns.

I think the little 3W LED IKEA table lamps make pretty good reading lights, but they're not very portable, having a heavy base.

Yay, sleep!

Not enough fat intake, vitamin C, and greens all seem plausible food things for this time of year.

My mother used to feed us rhubarb compote this time of year for the Vitamin C.

Hopefully you are not driven to that pass. :)

I should think that'll help with the will-to-live!

Any kale can presumptively be kept safely separate.

Rhubarb tapioca can be quite good!

But, anyway -- green peas? green beans? (both frozen this time of year) broccoli? ground meat in cabbage leaves? Olives? At least as I understand it, it just needs that dark green colour, it doesn't have to be leafy.

I know at least one person whose response to anything in the cabbage family is pretty close to a non-metaphorical "kill it with fire".

Fruit is good!

You know the cilantro thing? Apparently one of somewhere between 30 and 40 such binary "lovely/yuck" genes for taste, so there are a *lot* of sense of taste out there. Pretty easy to get a yuck or two for dark green veggies.
