 I've been chilly since I left the conference building (I'll make a post about it eventually) but I decided it was ultimate snug time because major winter storm+weekend means staying in and relaxing and watching a hockey game and making mac and cheese tomorrow

I got out my sleeping bag and I'm burrito'd on the couch.

Hurrah for being home safe!

There seems to be a requirement that when the heavy equipment comes to clear the hospital parking lot across the street, they have to hit a curb or a concrete parking separator or something. Today's awful noise has happened.

Hope there isn't much major about the storm's affects.

we'll see how it goes. I think we've all had plenty of warning and most everyone is staying home. I'm mostly worried about jade. I don't think she knows quite how bad the storm is and all her coworkers called out (understandably) and her f-ing boss asked her to work tomorrow and she agreed to start at 7am. we're supposed to get six inches between midnight and 7am......

the storm warning goes until 4pm. I almost wish there was a state of emergency so she would stay home but I don't know if she would then. We live three miles from the store she works at. ugh.

the snow plows don't actually come into the apartment complex, I guess because it's probably technically private property. We get the maintenance dudes doing it and they just have a 4 wheel drive truck. they usually don't clear until like, 10am because they're terrible.

Hope that all works out as well as it can. If the roads aren't plowed that's one of several really good reasons not to go. (As is not being equipped to walk in the ~ -20 F temperatures I expect you're getting. Three miles is walkable, but only if you're dressed for it.)

She would never ever walk haha. But I just checked the roads and they are at least plowing to maintain the current snow level, which is a solid packed inch. She's a decent snow driver so she'll make it to work. Plus she's leaving soon, so few other people will be on the road.

I was thinking of walking home from where the car's in a ditch, but may that issue not arise!

It's passed here and everything is sunny (and cold!) so I hope you get clear of the snow soon.

oh lol, I missed that. We're just about out of it now, we've got over a foot.

Up here on the fringe of it, I doubt we got three inches. And the city has been by to plow the sidewalk, so I don't have to out there and shovel it.

(My walk out to the sidewalk can wait for the probable hard rain on Wednesday.)

Except when you spent the entire week eating/being fed.

Yesterday morning, I was offered 'pavlova and coffee' for breakfast (that being leftovers from the previous day). The day before was banana pancakes, the day before that was french toast, the day before that was hot cross buns.

In all honesty, I am full for probably the next week...

hmmm. maybe a tiny mac and cheese? Like, just a quarter or a half of a normal recipe. It stores very well.....
