I made it just fine

I decided after the chaos of the morning if I could pack and leave by 1pm I would go because then I wouldn't be driving in the dark. The doctors appointment for the 24th at 2pm is really a wrench in my plans, because if I waited until tomorrow to go, it wouldn't make sense to just drive back that day and I'd stay home until the 24 and then drive down and miss two whole days with my family.
Or something.
Either way, I packed my stuff, quickly cleared the snow running in gear 2, ate lunch, put everything in the truck and closed up the house to stay warm and hit the road right at 1pm. I got gas and a lot of snacks. The plows had come through and cleaned our road up well by then and the sun came out which helped a lot. The main roads were all fine.
Once I was on the highway, it was actually slightly worse because the wind was much worse on those roads and it started to blow snow onto the roads. I and 50 other cars and like 20 tractor trailers also got stuck behind a plow for 20 minutes or so because they go 35mph and you can't pass them. Then we drove through a snow squall.
I was worried about the back road I take for about an hour but it was almost all fine and the only problem spots were windy ones.
I have been fed cream dried beef and have my heated blanket and about to watch my sister's choir concert so life is good
