Getting things done

I am feeling much much better, not 100% but able to do things. I got a solid 9 hours of sleep last night and I feel much more energetic. I still tested positive this morning, so still isolating. Only lingering symptom is a cough which is not constant and isn't bad. I've stopped taking tylenol since I now feel mostly fine. The sore throat cleared up yesterday and there's the occasional tiny ouch since it's clearly still healing, but way way better than it was.
I'm supposed to teach in person tomorrow night, I'm going to see if I can get out of it even if the covid guidance says that I could probably do it (the covid guidance is stupid but my boss is using it). I don't think I'll be clear on tests by then.
So far I have stripped my bed and put laundry in. All the things that could be washed, are washed and the stuff that can't be went into the dryer for 15 minutes. I need to bag and dispose of the tissue bag. Put all my clean laundry away.
I desperately need groceries, primarily breakfast food, so I placed a pickup order at the grocery store which I'll run and get shortly. That's the best I can come up with for getting more food.
I need to do sidejob work that has been lingering too long which will be a big focus for today. I'm going to work on it in the evenings this week so I can hopefully get it all wrapped up since there's been so few new requests.
The weather looks beautiful so I plan to spend some time outside, possibly working on my tablet weaving project since I've finished all my current spinning projects and haven't started a new one yet. (technically there's spindle spins but shhh)
things that must wait until I no longer test positive: baking, cone winding yarn, making mac and cheese

Date: 2024-04-28 06:08 pm (UTC)Hurrah for feeling better!
Permit me to implore you not to push it? COVID takes a long time for full recovery (months) and a lot of people have caused themselves lasting harm by wanting to get back to normal quickly.

Date: 2024-04-29 01:56 pm (UTC)Yes, I did grocery pickup when I had Covid. It’s the most sensible route for those of us who can’t get grocery delivery. I wrote in the order comments that I would be masking and standing on the other side of the car.

Date: 2024-04-29 05:22 pm (UTC)There's clearly something not right in my chest, but I'm not coughing anything up so it's a very odd sensation. And there's some metallic taste in my nose which is really weird but no blood anywhere so it must be something covid related. I can still taste and smell things fine.

A farmer friend who I visited yesterday confessed that she is kind of happy that her sense of smell is probably-permanently gone. She used to be horribly sensitive to all kinds of manure smells but now she can only vaguely smell the ammonia.
