Well, only one tree down in the yard so far. It came down at 5am and woke me up. One of the hemlocks, they just sometimes spontaneously snap. The very tippy top of the tree slightly bonked the fence in the backyard, so there's about two feet of it that is slightly rumpled. The bigger annoyance is that the old front door that was laying on it's side against the railing got blown over and fell onto my corn sheller and snapped the handle off. :(  It would need to be welded back on or I find some other way to strap a handle on.

There's supposed to be two more windy times today. Mara was very grumpy that I made her get up, but I wanted her to go out before it rained harder again. She's already back to sleep. Everything is wet, both porches are very wet. I need to go see if there's water in the basement, I'm guessing there's a little bit. The power went out for 10 seconds or so a bit after the tree came down but it's been normal since.

I didn't get a lot of housework done this weekend, I was tired. I did bake a lot of things, so that had something to do with it. Ah well. I'm taking friday off and I have all next week off, so with the visit to my parents being short, I should have time to get things done.

Great start to the week!

I’m glad your trees and fence were mostly spared. We appear to have come through with no obvious damage. Next door had a tree come down perfectly parallel to their driveway gate, which was fortunate and amusing because whoever chops it up and moves it will have to climb the fence to get to it first.
