Busy, not busy

unicorndukeI had a really nice weekend. It was started by a work from home day on Friday. More and more days are now working from home since field season is very rapidly wrapping up. We've got one trial left in the field and it plus two others will need to be evaluated. No big deal. That's indoor ish work, we end up in a barn doing the data and grading.
I've slowly been working on a crochet colorwork sweater, and I worked on that while watching streams friday night. And we got takeout from the BBQ place just down the road. I ordered a Mastodon bowl, which is a local reference and it was mashed potatoes with cheese and my choice of meat on top. I got bacon and it was delicious.
At some point, I'll do another fiber project roundup, I also just had a weaving epiphany last night so I want to make a post about that too.
Saturday, I took Mara on a very early morning dog walk at the local state park, so early that it could barely be called first light. It was cool and lovely and quiet and we finished and got back to the truck before the sun was properly up.
I went to the farmers market and got a few things, mostly dairy products since I've got many squashes and apples right now. I also got a very mediocre hot chocolate and hung out waiting for the arts center to open at 10 so I could pick up my ceramics projects! (side note, why is there so much mediocre hot chocolate in the world, come on people) My ceramics turned out super nice, I'm very happy with them. I have three small bowls, a spindle whorl and a small bird. The big square bowl has been a good phone holder on my desk which is amusing. I think I'm going to take a wheel throwing class if they offer that in the spring.
I went ice skating at the county rink which was nice. I only got about 45 minutes in before things started to hurt. Most people were wearing masks while skating. I played a lot of stardew valley for the rest of the day. I'm getting into the new late game content and it's really fun and difficult.
Sunday, I did many things. I took Mara to the bougie dog park north of us that you need a permit to use. I don't take her to dog parks much and didn't really feel like paying $40 for a park I would use 4-5 times in a year. No one goes to the dog park at 6:30am when it's 30 degrees either. We had a frost finally.
Then I played some more stardew. I made chocolate cake, which is delicious and yogurt and pizza and did so many dishes.
It was a nice weekend.
