How even drama

unicorndukeI volunteer at a therapeutic riding barn, I only started september of 2014. After about two months I was hired as barn assistant because I've got 9 years of horse experience and I owned my own horse. When I started, there was a girl there, who was 14, who also had been hired to be a barn helper. She had 2-3 years of horse experience, which was ok.
this got long and ranty so its under a cut
I worked all last winter, a lot of times with her because I was good enough adult supervision that the others could leave us to do evening barn chores after the others being at the barn all day. After we finished, her mom would come pick her up.
Sometimes the girl wouldn't do everything on the chore list to get done, I didn't care, she was only 14 and had been working there for four months before me. Whatever.
After I came back after my hiatus (working 60+ hours a week does not make free time), I started volunteering on saturdays only. In the past few weeks, I've been gearing up to start again as barn assistant, which I started this week, going to the barn three to four days a week.
Somewhere between August and now, this girl apparently decided to hate my guts. But not say anything to me, or act like she hated me. Instead she went to the Director of the barn and complained that she wasn't being allowed to lead in lessons, but I was. Despite the fact that I got there at 7:30 to do barn chores so the first lesson could be at 9, and she got to the barn at 9. If you're in a lesson, you be there at least 20 mins before to get the horse ready. But the director has no influence over who leads in lessons, that's the instructors. this girl didn't even go to the instructor about it. the director went to the instructor. But the girl also complained about this to a client's parent which is a big no-no. I heard about this from the instructor who said that she talked to the girl about it and cleared things up, as in, the girl had to be there earlier and do the work she was hired to do, which was barn duty, not lessons. It was just a general complaint that the girl wasn't leading in the lessons.
Fast forward a few weeks, I'm hanging out on sunday morning with the volunteer coordinator (because sunday mornings are do barn duty and then sit around and eat baked goods days) and she reads the actual texts from b/w the director and instructor and it directly named me and what the girl told the director was that I shouldn't be leading in the lessons because I wasn't any good for that particular rider and I was holding her back. Which is fucking ridiculous because it's the instructors job to work with the rider, as a leader I'm working with the horse. That's it. Half the time I don't even speak to the riders. And that the girl should be leading those lessons instead.
Whatever. I get over it.
I hear one or two things rumbling around about how the girl doesn't complete her chores and was changing things that she wasn't supposed to. Whatever, not my problem. I fed and lead horses on saturdays. I chatted with the girl like normal, it was water under the bridge.
I started doing barn duty this week which is going to be tuesdays, fridays and saturday mornings. tuesday night I get to the barn and the girl asks why I'm there and I tell her because the other person who normally does barn duty can't anymore, I'm taking her nights. girl makes some comment about showing her up, which ??? but we chatted like normal
Until wednesday. when I get a call from the volunteer coordinator asking what I did to make the girl hate my guts.
which, what?
apparently she had been getting weird texts from the girl's mom about how the girl didn't want to do barn duty anymore because I was working those days and blah blah blah. vol coordinator asked my opinion on the girl and what she had or hadn't been doing and said at the end of the convo that she was simply verifying what the instructors and other people had been saying about the girl, that she didn't complete her work, that she said things to people she shouldn't have.
okay fine. so today I went to the barn and the girl and her mom literally were having a meeting with vol coordinator and the director and the barn manager and changed her days so the girl didn't have to work with mean mean natasha. I was not in on this meeting and was told after the fact
and the girl proceeded to act like nothing happened. she didn't say anything out of the ordinary, she chatted and joked with me like normal and I'm just so mad about it. I was planning on not talking to her, but she started a conversation with me
its incredibly passive aggressive and if she had a problem with me, why didn't she tell the others, specific things so I could try not to do them. or something. idek, but I'm kinda pissed off now and I don't think I'm going to talk to her again.
