Everything happens so much at this time of year
laser scarecrow fix part should be delivered today so that means I'm heading to PA again, third weekend in a row. Tuesday was dentist and truck maintenence and dentist fix. Yesterday I left home at 8:30 in the morning and arrived back at 11pm. It was work meeting across the state and it was a really good meeting but wow a long day. I came into the work office today to print a newsletter that no one else has the time to and the printer is broken so now I need to sit here and wait and see if it will be fixed this afternoon. I need to go west tomorrow to do trial work and it would be nice if I could leave for PA from there, but uncertain if that can happen because printer problems. If I could leave from there, it would save me two hours driving.
I also have meat in the fridge that has thawed. We ordered delivery tuesday and it took over two hours to arrive, so some of that is still in the fridge. It was supposed to be backup for yesterday in case I didn't get dinner (I did). I also won't have time to make food this weekend so now I need to make a bunch of food when I already have food in the fridge which is so irritating to me. I also need to get groceries right after work. It's also an enormous amount of meat (venison stew meat that a coworker wanted to get out of her freezer, maybe 2-3 pounds). I'm planning to make vindaloo and dal and rice tonight and I'm planning to freeze half of everything I make. The next few months are going to be just as busy so I might as well take advantage.
I have not gotten any of my harvested things threshed and they are just sitting in my room in the way. I have not potted up my herbs. Did finally manage to water my ginger and tumeric so that's good.
USA Hockey is having a show case camp and series against Canada in Lake Placid soon and I'm trying to figure out what weekends I can go. I don't know if I want to do next weekend because I'll be resting up and catching up on stuff around the apartment or what. I really want to gooooo. Just. Where is the time?
I wish I could take naps that don't screw my sleep schedule or make me feel like crap. I also want to play video games :| too much to do

Date: 2019-08-01 06:40 pm (UTC)Hope the travel works out. Hope you get a chance to cost out the waiting-for-printer time and beat the person who buys the printer with it, metaphorically or not. (I buy workgroup printers for a home office because I need it rarely, but when I need it is has to work and it might need to print a thousand pages.)

Date: 2019-08-02 01:39 am (UTC)I want to say the printer is one of those situations where actual maintenance comes out and handles it. It is super fancy, like the kind that can fold and staple things. It was just jamming itself up so who knows.

Printers like that can be underspec'd, too; it's the impulse to buy the least expensive version that can fold and staple, instead of the one that's intended to fold and staple all the things while printing by the carton of paper. (Never mind how often anyone actually *needs* the stapler...) There's an analogy with "well, yes, this if the smallest model of tractor with $feature"; one had generally best not ever really NEED $feature.
Glad it's sorted, my tendency to rant about functional specification aside. :)
Hope it's an excellent trip!
