We got somewhere between 2.5 and 3 feet. (ETA: actual reports at 40 inches at the airport here LOL) At that point, the details are less important, it's just a lot of snow. I dug an area in the backyard for Mara to pee and she had some fun running around in the dug area. She loves snow up to the point where it hits her belly, then she realizes what all the other dogs normally have to deal with.

I also partially dug my truck out, but since the neighbor who is supposed to plow hasn't come by yet, it doesn't really matter. It doesn't really matter at all because I don't actually need to go anywhere until next week.  I don't think anyone has dug their drive out yet.

It's a lot of snow! I only saw three vehicles out, one was a tractor trailer on the major highway and two were trucks on my road. The plows have come through but no one is going anywhere.

I am working today but will finish digging my truck out later and getting Mara a bigger play area. Shoveling is my workout today. It's also deceptively cold out, doesn't feel like it but there's a wind chill. 15 F with wind chill around 3 F and I got one of my fingers chilled for a bit while I was shoveling.

snowed a lovely four or five inches this morning, not too warm so it was fluffy and soft and didn't really pack. I walked Mara a while and it was beautiful. I've got a partial office day so office this morning and then running out to a vineyard this afternoon. Roads were mostly fine this morning.

I think I'm going ice skating tonight despite how cold it will be. I want to practice.

I left work an hour and a half ago because there was already an inch of snow and it's coming down fast. I'm glad I left when I did because people were already having issues on the road. Not sure where the plows were but I didn't see any.

At one intersection (it's a long light, the four lanes go separately), I was behind someone and we were on an uphill incline. I sat there and watched as it took them the entire light round to make it through the intersection because they were spinning the whole way. Other drivers just went around them. Granted, they were being as smart as they could about it and not going side to side but also consider this: snow tires.

So, I'm glad I left early and I had my four wheel drive on most of the way since it is mostly turns and uphill to get back here. I did watch a truck behind me take over two lanes as they were spinning out on a ramp.

So in conclusion: I'm home and not actually working much. Yay.
