Putting this down here so I have some accountability.

TONIGHT

Hopefully if I get all of this done tonight, I can spend tomorrow evening spinning, which would be very nice. I'm going to spin up some more flax, maybe more than I did last time and then I'll put on the blue targhee that I've been working with. If I can get that second braid spun up by the end of this weekend, I can get it all plyed next week and then try some of the other fibers I've gotten. One thing I want to try with a braid that I bought from a destash is chain plying so the colors stay together. The colors on it are fine, so that will be a good experiment braid.

There's no hockey games this weekend except for watching the AWIHL finals, which are streaming at ass o'clock in the morning for me because Australia so I watch them after. So mostly no hockey games means plenty of time to do spinning and other fun stuff

Plans for this weekend:

tonight: 6pm hockey game
tomorrow: 9am farmers market, make yogurt, small amount of sidejob work, 2pm online hockey game, 5:15 YMCA ice skating
sunday: morning spinning, 4pm online hockey game
monday: morning spinning, 1pm online hockey game, 7pm ice skating

Today's plans:

Watch AWIHL games that were played last night
Crochet and spin while watching - purple/grey blanket and started a chunkier spin than normal
Ice skating at 2
Watch live AWIHL and NWHL games tonight

the weather says its 62 right now but it sure doesn't feel like it. The dog is panting and I'm warm wearing a tshirt. We turned the AC on a little bit for the dog last night when we went out and I think we'll have to do that again this afternoon, especially if I bake something.

Work is slow, so I'm doing some personal stuff right now. It's slow because it's Still Raining. Ew

I'm going to PA for the next two weekends, this weekend to help with strawberry planting and to build my truck bed platform (and ice skating maybe), and memorial day weekend to plant All The Things. My summer crops are all going in that weekend.

So that means I need to do things during the week, which I'm not spectacularly great at.

Here's a small to-do list

- bake cornmuffins - two kinds - cornmeal molasses crumb and double corn and cheese

- make food for weekend - kheema, white rice, moong dal (?)

One of the things I really want to try and get going again is my sourdough starter. I need to be consistent with it and I actually had it alive for a while, but never ended up baking with it. There are sourdough pizza recipes that I think will work better gluten free than the yeast. But the consistency of it with travelling to PA so much is hard. I also just don't have the timing down, where you feed it at night, split it and prep dough in the morning and bake in the evening. But I will get there! Maybe I need to store it in the fridge over the weekend, pull it sunday night, feed it and it'll be ready to split in the morning. idek. gotta think about that.

I really need to keep stocking my freezer with things I can eat later. That's what the muffins are for and I need to start doing more things with the fruit in the freezer. I've got a lot of strawberries. Hmmm. Maybe I'll do strawberry muffins instead. Or both. I hate to say hockey season has been bad for my baking productivity but it has been. Normally I pick a day on the weekend and bake all day. Instead the day is broken up so I can't do the super elaborate things unless I get started first thing in the morning. Oh well. I could probably do cookies too.......

I also picked up some day old gluten free bread from the co op. I guess they were day old. idek they were in a bread sale bin so I picked up a multigrain roll pack and a baguette. they were made by a local company and I threw them in the freezer.

I did end up saving the taco stuff in the freezer even though it's over a week old. I'd still eat it and there's one meal left more or less so eh. Emergency meal for some time. I also cleaned out the old stuff from the fridge and draino'd the kitchen sink which needed it. I already did some sidejob stuff and I need to check that again real quick before I walk Mara and head to the game.

also one of the people I'm emailing for side job abbreviated nutrient as nut in the subject line of an email

plan for today:

drop work stuff left from conference at the office

get coworkers phone charger that she left in her hotel room back from the hotel

go to public skate at north rink so I can pay for my learn to skate sessions that start next week.

I am very tired despite going to bed early because the dogs woke me up at 3 because Mara had to go to the bathroom and then decided as soon as we got outside that it was roll in the snow time. And it was hard to get back to sleep after that. I'm also stiff but not sore from the hill walking yesterday which is odd but fine.

Today's to do is very short

hardware store
ice skating

and probably grocery store but I don't feel like it since i don't know what I'm making for food this week. I haven't had much of an appetite again so I think I'm going with taco stuff, which I always love. I'll have to figure something out for lunch too. Maybe cornbread?

so that's on the list to do. I'll head to the hardware store in about an hour so I can really start figuring out this laser scarecrow.

So January has been kinda busy so far and is not slowing down at all.

For this weekend I will be doing the following:

laundry
deep clean of my cabinets
vacuuming
dish cleanup
side job work - I suspect this might be an issue, they may have gotten me the info too late for me to get the thing done. Who knows.
going to local college's hockey games (fri 6pm, sat 3pm)
streaming nwhl games when I can (sat 1:30pm, 7:30pm, sun 3pm)
meeting potential dogsitter on sunday - hopefully morning
maybe going out to dinner with jade (she has fri, sat off as of right now)
maybe going to a public skate (sun 1pm)
make cornbread

Maybe this is a few too many things but usually the cleaning stuff is a hope rather than a definite.

Next weekend I'm attending a conference for work, but it's 30 mins from the apartment which is lovely. I get to attend all the days even though my boss only needs help one day. I've got that monday off work and have possible plans to get to another public skate and also watch a thing that I want to see how it works.

Then the weekend after is my trip to Buffalo. I'm taking that friday off and spending the day in ithaca because books.

So many things!

My goals for the day were:

Vacuum living room/kitchen/stairs
Make chili
Make ice cream?
Make cornbread
Take dog to park

So far I have:

Vacuumed all the things
chili is in the slow cooker
made ice cream base, will churn in a couple of hours
made cornbread
made chocolate mousse with the leftover egg whites
watching hockey games
most dishes are done (I haven't done this last round)
cooked all bacon to get bacon grease for cookiing

Still to do:

evening walk with Mara
do last round of dishes
churn ice cream
