I've hit the point in laying out my field this year where I'm super worried about how much I'm trying to do. Is it too much? Should I not do so much? I'm not even at the farm full time.
That way, if you have x hours, you can do the things you most want; if you have 2x hours, you can do more, and so on. Don't set it up so it's either 4x hours or worthless.
If you have ten hours every two weeks (or whatever), that gives you a time budget, and you ought to be able to plan around "and in June $DAY-JOB is taken over by madness spirits" as well. So it might be more "I have thirty hours in May, I have six hours in June, I have 20 hours in July" sort of stuff. And then budget stuff by hours and remember to give yourself about 20% margin.
