I'm trying to convince myself to get some errands run after work and it just feels impossible for some reason

too dark, can't leave the apartment

and by after work, I mean, after I get home, walk the dog and feed her.

oh no i have this problem a lot. i get like, locked in to my idea of what's possible. like, now that i'm home, i can't possibly go back out because it's dark and it's late. i also get locked in to things like... oh dude has my car parked in so i can't possibly get my car out and go anywhere, i'll have to wait until the next time he's going somewhere so i can get out.
when like. i could just. move his car. i could even put it in front of the fire hydrant while i get mine out, and then put it back and drive mine away. but it's too many steps so i can't even begin it, and i absolutely can't ask for help, that's just crazy talk!!!
it's so frustrating. i hope you get unstuck.

grocery stores are the worrrrst
actually i hate hardware stores even worse because i have some kind of mental defect where I walk into a Home Depot and immediately forget why I'm there. It's a little less bad in an Ace or something but it's never good. My eyes kind of glaze over and I'm like "paint chips" and then I never buy whatever the fuck it was. I literally have resorted to buying lightbulbs on Amazon because I was so tired of going to the store for them and coming back with something entirely else.
(drain cleaner. i have so much drain cleaner.)
(i already forgot what it is that i realized i needed when i got home from there the last time)
(but it wasn't drain cleaner)
(which i have more of now)

Checklists can help.

If it's "aigh too much social monkey emulation aigh", getting home, feeding the dog, and flaking out for half an hour can help, too. Critical brain reset from "I am done, I am done, today was too long, too many people" to "I need food, I can do the thing".

That does sound like your blood sugar is completely crashing at the end of the day. Good reason to get checked for diabetes, good reason to eat something around three in the afternoon. (Possibly two. The "excuse me, have you seen my brain?" time varies a good deal across people.)

I find hard boiled eggs work pretty well; so does dried fruit. (I mean, fresh fruit, too. But dried usually wins on portability and storage.)

Makes sense! Good to have it checked, but there eleventy causes so agree no need to worry. (Despite being an utter fussbudget.)

Missed input causing lowered output seems totally plausible. :)
