I had a dream as I was sleeping and I don't remember how the dream started but towards the end I had a book. Apparently technology had advanced because we had computers that were paper thin and flexible. I had stuck a whole lot of them in a book, had the book on my lap and was talking to someone. But then one of them started vibrating like an alarm. I tried turning them off but it just kept going off and going off no matter how many I turned off. And then I woke up. Turns out I had unplugged my phone, was holding it against my stomach and my alarm was going off.

Today is day 2 of the conference and probably the last day I'm going because we're getting the big storm tonight. I'm going to two morning sessions, probably one about cleaning/winnowing small grains for food, which I'm very interested in and not sure on the other one. Maybe rice growing. Then I need to help my coworker with her big afternoon session which I doubt she'll need much help with.

There's supposed to be a seed swap at 4. That's literally when the storm warning starts. So I suspect I'll be going to it for a half hour or so and then hitting the road. I'm a little nervous but I've got 4 wheel drive and I should be fine.

Oh yeah driving back from last night, I could see cop cars with their lights on and everyone was going SO SLOW

turns out they were all rubbernecking like assholes because the cops were arresting someone. like damn people, go watch some reality tv. just fucking drive!

Paper-thin computers reminds me of how Star Trek envisioned iPads, but apparently thought each one held one single document.
