I've been tired lately, which is why I haven't posted anything or said much on any social media. I had a migraine monday and it lingered through yesterday despite the medication ( new one I'm trying, does not work so I'm done with it). Today was a busy day at work. We mailed 1100 8.5x11 things which each had to be stuffed with 3-4 items, labeled and run through the mail machine. I feel bad for the mail people. I called in a work party so we could get it done. There were donuts and lunch provided and we got 95% of it done. The other 5% needed a different form made up and we didn't think of it before hand. So. Eh.

I still haven't gotten my dad a chirstmas present. I need to go buy myself some knives for butchering so maybe I'll go wander around and see if I find anything.

I made chili over the weekend and never posted that. Maybe I'll get to it.

There isn't supposed to be any snow coming up so I should be able to get the field cleaned and pictures taken of my field when I go to PA on saturday.

idek. tired. I'm thinking of going to sleep except I end up laying in bed, wide awake as soon as I go to bed.

You mentioned knives! :)

Permit me to recommend http://www.gknives.com/index.php/products/2015-08-06-10-51-34/clearance which is the "this isn't perfect, so it's cheap" page at Grohmann Knives.

Their poly line -- nylon handle stuff meant for commercial use -- is worth a look for butchering. I quite like their skinning knives, too.

Sometimes the weather and the dark just fill one with the blah. The long slow drop in pressure hearabouts isn't helping any. Hope you're feeling better soon and find something for your dad.

First guess re sleep would be vitamin D, just on the general suspicion that everyone outside the tropics doesn't get enough.

Though I suppose you could always try reading the tax code or something. Those are usually available for free online. :)

If taking Vitamin D screws up your sleep schedule you nigh-certainly really need it; pretty much everything that holds an organism together (connective tissue, bones, membranes...) needs vitamin D to function properly. (That includes brains! One of the great triumphs of evolutionary medicine (wait, we're talking what increased rate of death due to skin cancer? and people lose their melanin anyway? But people only need micrograms!) And then the lightbulb went off about what that means for the answer to "is this important?")

Sometimes fish oil works better than the other versions; I'm really trad about this and take cod liver oil.

And, yeah, the getting it into the routine and dealing with the results can be a sucky six weeks or so. Very likely worth doing anyway.
