Damn it dog (she's okay)
Feb. 1st, 2024 05:08 pmMara gave me a fucking scare this morning when I let her out. She had been hard to help up first thing but she seemed stable enough. And then I let her outside and went to take her for a little wander around the house and she was just staggering everywhere. She barely could keep on her feet, sitting down and walking mostly sideways if I could get her moving at all. I finally convinced her to get inside and laid her down on her bed. She seemed unbothered by this whole incident and just went to sleep.
I got her up to see how she was doing after a half hour and she was better but limping in an ouchie joint way. So I called the vet and got her an urgent appt at 11. Since it takes her forever to get in and out of the truck, I leave an hour before her appointments. Got her there, the vet looked at her and we're trying a pain injection once a month and she's getting xrays to check for arthritis next week. She was unhappy in the vets office but seemed fine on the way home, she put her head down to sleep.
Got home and she's seemed better walking, although she just staggered a little bit just now while she was trying to eat dinner, so I got her to lay down and eat dinner in bed and now she's snoring.
She got a little wander outside as well and seemed to enjoy sniffing more. I'm fucking exhausted. The vet said we aren't quite to a quality of life conversation so there we go.
