Mara was doing so well for the week after I started her on the gabipentin. She had more energy, she's been barking more and is just obsessed with the rabbits living in the brambles on the hill. I bumped her to twice a day since she seemed a little upset in the evenings like maybe it was hurting her more.

But the last two days, she's been struggling to stand up. She's been sitting down randomly, she's not a sitting dog, but her back legs just give out and she just sits down. I wonder if I should switch back to once a day dose since that seemed to be better. Or it could be weather related. Or it could be that she's not getting up as much, so she's stiffer each time she does get up and I've been out and about so much for work. She wants to go down the hill to smell things but she seems to be struggling just going around the house. She's eating less now although she's always up for wet food. She did like that I took her squishiest bed out onto the balcony for her this morning so I'll keep doing that.

She also discovered today that I was putting the pill powder in the pill pockets. She spit one of them out, then proceeded to eat it again so who knows. Switching to bacon grease next.

Either way, we've got another vet appointment scheduled for the 17th. I think I'm going to do morning doses only and see how it goes.

Eta: she's having terrible diarrhea today, again. So that might be why she seemed so uncomfortable in the last day or so. Rice for lunch for her.

🤞

Bacon grease seems entirely practical.

May everything go just so well as it can.
