I am committed to working from my parents place for a week at the end of January. property things likely to be signed on Wed (!) so my week down there will be helping with projects and renovation. I have gotten permission from my boss and the other specialist I support to do this. I don't have much work anyway so it's fine.

I decided to take a load of belongings down every time I go, so make the move go faster. I've packed up all my excess crafting stuff just about. I keep changing my mind about how many projects I'll get done and I've probably kept back way more things than I'll do in three or so months but eh whatever. I suspect I'll do a bunch of sewing at first, pack all that, then switch to primarily spinning. I've also kept back enough weaving yarn for one project and my tablet weaving cotton yarn since that is easy to set up and make.

I've got some old seed projects I need to dump or process that have been living in a bin and a box for several years at this point.

I think I'm going to need to take down some larger items every time, like the great wheel or a piece of furniture instead of just boxes. I don't know. something like that. do my parents have somewhere for this all to go? technically I guess the parsonage but feels silly to unload it into a place and then move it to another place but that might be what happens. A shelf maybe. I should get my yarn all boxed up. I guess that's excessive crafting stuff I haven't packed. Oops. I like looking at it though

I also cleaned the floors this morning because they needed it.

I might go work on a sewing project now. I ran out of packing tape

I received a beautiful mohair fleece from [personal profile] reedrover at Giant Cricket Farm, who raises colored Angora goats, during Rhinebeck 2023. It was from her Angora goat Marla and it was a beautiful tan color. I decided that I would make a garment from this fleece in a year, with the goal to have it done by Rhinebeck 2024. The fleece was 3 lbs, 10 ounces.

A beautiful, shiny pile of mohair locks, tan color, incredibly shiny and wavy.
this is long and has lots of photos )

The waistcoat is laying closed on a mesh table. It is tan and shiny, with just a tiny bit of green back showing at the shoulders. The lining is a plaid grey and blue.

The same waistcoat but it has been opened so the grey and blue plaid lining is visible.
