The last two weeks have been busy
Jun. 25th, 2022 02:43 pmI think it's been almost two weeks or so since I last wrote.
Work has been incredibly busy. I had five hours of driving two different days this week and all other days have been a full day of work, running around to get stuff done. Same with last week except for Friday, which no one had anything for me to do which was odd.
House stuff has also been busy. F moved in yesterday kind of. She and her cat moved in. Her stuff did not because the movers she hired just didn't show up. In theory they are getting her stuff first thing tomorrow morning. We'll see. Her sister ran over and they brought her mattress so she wouldn't sleep on the floor. The list of small projects to do is rapidly growing with most of them taking an hour or two of work but things like making new shelves or fixing the mailbox. Plus unpacking. I'm hoping to poke at the flooring tomorrow morning and get a couple more panels up.
Last weekend, I went to my parents and worked. I had Monday off so I stayed the extra day. Mostly transplanting tomatoes, peppers and squash and cutting rye. They gave us a shopvac as a housewarming present which is the best one I think we've gotten so far.
I left mid afternoon Friday for my parents after mowing the little side field which will someday become my garden. It was kinda terrible but I got it done. In the next day or two, F and B stopped by to move some of F's stuff in and they discovered that probably a bear had climbed the big porch stairs which is a full flight, knocked a bunch of stuff around, stole the bird feeder and the entire metal trash can the seed was stored in and carried away the 35lb bag of seeds.
womp womp.
I eventually found the bag and the feeder in the woods but we just took down all the feeders except the hummingbird feeder and are waiting for a bit before we put them back out.
There is also some active deer around who are eating the lilac bush in the front yard >:(
I made brownies (dark chocolate with tart cherries mmmm) this morning, two pans because I'm going to a potluck tonight at C's that is for her CSA customers. I'm an honorary CSA member because I lived in her barn, I think that counts. Then tomorrow, there's a queer knitting gathering at a local cafe in the afternoon and I'm going to dinner at A's with F and B should be there too and some brownies will go there.
probably some other things happened but I'm tired and need to leave in an hour so I might nap.
