It's been a good day so far and it's not even 11am.

I woke up around 6:30, walked the dog for about an hour. She's been full of energy lately, I think because of the slightly warmer weather and shorter walks I've been doing. So that was a good tire her out walk.

Then I loaded up all the books I had to donate which was three boxes and around six large piles. My dog thought we were going to travel because that's usually what many trips to the truck in a short time is. I dropped them at a library drop box where they go to better world books and then the library will get a kick back. I am glad I went before hours so I could pull right up to the drop box and unload.

I then ran to the co op for food stuffs and got hazelnuts so I can make the world's best brownies later.

Then I went to home depot to get stuff. I needed better bolts for my grow light, I got it mostly assembled yesterday but it's pretty terribly designedand I stripped the bolts trying to tighten them down to keep it from tipping. So I got better bolts and washers which should help and also some metal things to shove under the poles so they don't wobble around.

I also picked up potting soil for starting my plants. I'm a little early getting it all around, but they didn't have the flat trays I need in stock for under the trays I currently have.

I need to figure out a good container for the ginger and tumeric. It needs to be probably six to eight inches deep at least but wide so the roots can spread out. I was thinking about using a shallow rubbermaid bin but I would have issues with too much water in the bottom probably. I would need to figure out some kind of drainage.

Now I'm home and sitting out on the balcony with Mara. It's lovely weather, if a little cool still. I'm comfortable with a blanket and a hoodie. It's supposed to be around 55 degrees today.

I'm going to eat some strawberry cake for lunch and then watch the CWHL cup final and then the NCAA final. After today, hockey season is done*

I also don't need to leave the apartment for the rest of the day. Uhhh that train whistle is going for a really long time, I hope some dumbass wasn't on the tracks but they probably were because people around here are dumb. They stop on the tracks! It's an active train track! They come through multiple times per day! Don't stop on the tracks! Oh my god!

I haven't heard it start back up so hopefully they haven't hit anyone.

*except for IIHF World's in April.

reason why I shouldn't live in a city: two nice people were out doing the thing where they go out for political people. it's an actual word. Me and jade are registered voters and these people were collecting signatures for a dude to run for mayor

they rang the doorbell which got mara barking so I was irritated at that and I hate talking to people

I just.

I'm sure I looked unhappy also because I have resting bitch face and I don't like folks coming to the door

I feel bad for them because I said I wasn't going to sign since I hadn't heard of the person but they just gave me a flyer and a pen.

A front for shady business is a restaurant. Since we all know that fronts have really good food for reasons I don't understand, people start to come to the front for the food. It becomes more popular and the folks doing the shady stuff have to deal with the fact that their front is actually doing well and attracting attention. Shenanigans ensue.  Absurd ducking into the kitchen or hiding as a cook or waiter.

Jade and I came up with this idea because we ate at an indian restaurant that we were 99% sure is a front. We ate there on a friday night around 5:30 and we were the only ones in the restaurant. The food was amazing.

It wasn't the area because there were two other restaurants within a block that were packed with people and the pizza place next door was busy with people coming in and out.

Jade thought the idea would be good as a play and I agreed.
