Weekend Luck

unicorndukeSo this technically started Friday, but it still counts because it was after we finished work.
My one coworker loves going to yard sales and antique shops. He checks them a lot, especially for things for his kid. So friday we harvested some potatoes and hit up some yard sales and things on the way home, hitting probably five yard sales and an antique shop and I hit jackpot!
I've been going to yard sales all summer and haven't found anything interesting to me that I also have room for but wow, I got lucky this weekend. I always see these beautiful china sets that have like, 75 pieces and are incredibly lovely but we literally don't have cabinet space for them. Just straight up, nowhere to put them.
First stop, yard sale, I picked up a huge box of fabric for my mom for the fall scarecrow making. Five bucks for the whole thing. It had so many fabric scraps and it was so big that I had trouble carrying it (probably 30 pounds). Third stop, yard sale, I see a panini press, nice cuisinart one, with griddle pan and panini pan. I got it for five dollars. Last stop, antique shop and I see a cool older style hand cultivator. It has a basket style front which breaks up crusted soil and supports the cultivating tines in the back. Like this! (I'm sure the image will disappear at some point since it's just from google).
I'd seen them at other antique things and they generally ran at least 45 dollars but I asked the guy and he said 20 and I was like, yes! so now I've got one of those!
Then saturday, Jade took me out for brunch and then we drove over to the middle of nowhere to check out a flea market event. And I found a big basket filled with roving for spinning for two dollars (basket included) and a tiny cast iron skillet for six dollars.
All in all, a good and lucky weekend! I'm very pleased with my haul!
