Also one of the reasons for insulated tool handles and the continued popularity of wooden (or fibreglass) folding rulers. There's a "oh, yeah, metal measuring tape's conductive" failure mode. Leaves a lasting impression.

Date: 2019-07-13 02:54 pm (UTC)thankfully it scared me and I dropped it immediately. the spark took a chunk out of the positive terminal where it was soft metal. my multitool was completely unharmed other than a black mark.
I'll be much more careful next time.
my fucking scarecrow still isn't working right so I need to do more work on it. ugh.
