I got some things done today.
I got up, took Mara to the dog park where she spent most of the time circling the gazebo trying to get whatever critter is living under there out. I had to pull her away so she could go poop. Dogs I stg
then I stopped through the co op for chocolate and flour and the farmers market to get some stuff. chatted with some folks. The person at the register at the co op was highly amused by my purchases because it was half chocolate and half other stuff because the cookies needed a mix of chocolate chips so I bought about seven different kinds.
Then I baked.
I got completed two sweet potato pies and a batch of zucchini muffins. I couldn't do the pies at the same time because I didn't have a tray big enough and I don't particularly want to clean the bottom of the stove. I wasn't really expecting it to spill over but I always put stuff on trays including the muffin tins. I've never made sweet potato pie but it's basically pumpkin pie and I tasted the raw batter and it was extremely sweet but it really mellowed when baking. The pies also shrank when I blind baked them, which I wasn't really expecting but okay. I used this recipe for the crust to be gluten free and just subbed sorghum flour in for brown rice flour. I've got to say, I really like sorghum flour as my main flour, it does super well and it isn't gritty or weird tasting like brown rice flour. Then I also mixed up a batch of these cookies and they are chilling in the fridge to be baked tomorrow.

I then headed over to the A Farm and dropped one of the pies off and picked up four dozen eggs. Four dozen because I went through three dozen in two weeks and I have plans for more things tomorrow. I think I'm going to make two batches of ice cream, or at least the bases. One is strawberry and doesn't use any eggs but I'm going to do a chocolate which does. And then maybe some pastry cream for fun. I think someone suggested putting pastry cream in an ice cream maker which frankly sounded like the best idea ever but I have to wait for the ice cream thingy to refreeze between batches. I also need to make yogurt for the next few weeks and maybe some actual food for dinner or whatever but that's less important. I might do another batch of muffins and freeze them.
I'd taken Mara with me to the farm and then we headed up to Grafton Lakes State Park, which was lovely and windy and quiet.

oh I also vacuumed.
