Maybe an intro post?

 Hi, I guess I should make this post. 

I'm unicornduke, I usually go by Duke online. I used to be on tumblr but I'm not anymore. I'm on pillowfort, same name.

I'm not as much into fandoms as I used to be, currently reading Check Please and enjoying it's updates. I am reading Check Please fics as well as some Yuri on Ice fics but overall, mostly lurking in fandom spaces. 

I've spent a lot more time lately focusing on my gardening/farming/if it's more than a half acre but not selling anything wtf is it/seed saving. Tying into that is providing some of my own food, cooking from scratch and hunting to get meat. I enjoy growing weird shit and I'm planning to do some plant breeding next year. 

I currently live in New York State although I travel to PA a lot to visit my parents/family and that's where my growing field is. I do live in a city area, which is currently driving me bananas because I hate it. I camp a lot in the summer up in the Adirondacks where there's no cell service and I can sit by a campfire and read and hang out with my dog.

I bake gluten free stuff a lot and love to talk about it. I'm also working on my cooking skills, which is an ongoing process. I have a decent amount of food restrictions and some things I must eat and I have texture issues. So that's a thing I'm working on. 

I crochet and spin drop spindle, and I'm forever looking at spinning wheels with longing. 

I've got a dog, a Great Pyrenees named Mara who is funny and sweet and silly.

I love women's hockey, I'll watch any streams I can find and I attend a local college's games as often as I can. 

I'm in my mid 20s, still paying off loans, although I'm getting closer and closer, which is exciting. I'm white. I'm hella ace and not sure on romantic stuff because it's all very confusing and don't really care to figure it out more.

I'd still call that 'gardening'. Just larger-scale gardening, rather than your standard (well, used to be standard here in Sydney, Australia) quarter-acre property with house and lawn.

Hi! I've been wandering through some of the non-fandom friend meme and I actually recognized your name! I didn't get it until I saw your Maria Hill icons that I'd read your MCU fanfics ages and ages ago and absolutely loved them. I'm not in that fandom any more but I love gardening things and just stuff so I figured it would be fun!

I'll have to post some of my prep for the field. It is technically on a farm property and it's actually an acre that my dad is letting me use. It's just that so much of what I'm growing is weird shit that I'm growing for my own food that it's hard to call it farming. Especially since I'm not selling it.

Cool! I'm trying to be more consistent about posting things but summer is so bananas that I usually capture the spring and fall better. The tag I use for farm stuff is fieldwork.
