follow up to the whiny post

thoughts that are occurring that I forgot to include in the previous whiny post: 

my parents now have a hard deadline to be moved out by christmas time, my former boss, now good friend C wants to stop by on her way south for their holiday trip. I must be Ready to Host. 

also another thought on why they should move out: my dad will talk farming any time of day or night that he thinks about it. he just came into the living room, started talking to me about a spray thing. my baking timer went off, so I told him to hold that thought, I'd be back in a few minutes. I went to kitchen. he followed me to the kitchen to tell me the thing. while I understand the impulse not to forget the thought. I don't want this

It is LONG past time for them to have moved. I presume they are still working on the house?
Have a great weekend away and make sure you cool off. Cooking your body and brain aren't good. I know, I've done plenty of it!

How far are they moving? I have vauge memories of reading of someone's parents plan to move to another, smaller house on the same property a the offspring takes over the main house and responsibilities. Is that your family? If so, would the move change your father's habit of coming in to talk farming when the thought come to him?

Yes, house renovations are going at a snails pace. they are very busy but also: snails pace. I think some of it is there is a lot of spraying on the farm that's needed, it's when the most fungicides and insecticides need to be applied, so my dad is doing that instead of house work in the evenings. Which I appreciate, don't get me wrong, but also I could take some of those over and I've offered a ton of times but he keeps doing it himself. Hmm. I will insist when I come back.

No better way to stay cool than laying around doing nothing!!!

Sympathy! I am that person who follows people and keeps talking. I’ve made a conscious effort to Shut Up, particularly in the mornings. Most other people aren’t interested in conversation before breakfast or even at breakfast.

Yes, that is my family! My parents are moving across the road, just 300 feet or so, but the house renovations are going extremely slowly. They decided to lay hardwood flooring, so they can't move in until the flooring is done, but it's tedious, slow and they've only been working on it occasionally. I'm helping where I can but it is taking some time. Them moving across the road will definitely help with the farm stuff, as will me taking over more of it.

I don't actually mind it that much on a normal basis, but at 8pm after a long day of work while I was in the middle of Not Thinking About The Farm, I was irritated.
