Those tasks are quite fun! There's skill in doing it fast and well and it takes a lot of practice to get good at it.
It is a good time I think, all this plus the church stuff. Probably the actual time would be have been two or three years ago, but they kept putting me off. I think the physical stuff plus mom's unwillingness to keep going on the farm pushed them into this.
Lots of potatoes! I wanted to get my favorite variety, Baltic Rose, which is red skin, yellow flesh and the most buttery tasting potato I've ever eaten. It's also higher yielding than a lot of other potato varieties that we did in the work trials. Only downside is that it doesn't store as well as some other varieties but oh no, I'll just have to eat lots of potatoes, terrible!
