As part of my "professional development", I learned how to use a router today. Very fun,very cool, now I can make lines in any piece of wood. I need to buy lumber for various projects too. Yay woodworking.

Routers generally upset me, but I'm pretty good about, like, circular saw, reciprocating (saber) saw, table saw, miter saw, bandsaw. I think the router issue is that it's... rotary? I dunno. Something about it weirds me out and I find them scary. But go you!

well, the one I used was extremely eager to go, they really want to saw stuff. And like, it's sideways, but you can't be too far from it. Like, the blade will get you no matter how far you can go, which isn't far. Where most bladed tools at least are nominally working away from the user. It was difficult to be safe, or set up my work space to be safe with it. C said that people have router tables, where you can't get yourself as easily
