Verizon has my eternal hatred

I've been getting mailed notices from Verizon, they're upgrading their network and anything 3G doesn't work. Weird I said, my phone doesn't even use 3G why are they sending me this notice? 

 Well, what they're saying is that my lovely Unihertz phone isn't compatible with the new 4G/5G network, despite the fact that I think it is. 

I had called customer service and they said that I needed a new sim card, so I went into the store and they said I needed a new phone. So I've pulled out the phone I had last replaced, a moto g power 2021 which I cracked the screen very badly on two weeks into owning and shoved the sim card back into. Tomorrow or later today I'm going to call them and confirm 100% that this phone is compatible with the new network. If it isn't, I'm going to demand they give me a new phone for free because I'm still paying off this stupid broken phone. 

And when the new network gets put up, I'm simply going to put my sim card back into my atom l because I looked at the specs and it has the exact same 4G network capabilities as the moto g power. 

I'm fucking pissed and I really can't afford a new fucking phone right now because I just put new tires on my fucking truck.

Confusticate and bebother Verizon!

Here's hoping your sensible plan works. It might be a "you have to buy a phone from us" forced refresh thing, but hopefully without the infrastructure to actually enforce that.

I gave up and upgraded phones here recently. It was a horrible experience. (I also have Verizon.) There is nothing fast or easy or even enjoyable about playing cellphones with Verizon. And it's expensive.

I am pretty hard on my electronics but luckily I've done OK with my cellphones so far -- tempered glass screen + drop-resist case + entirely unsexy phone holster.

I think it's because the unihertz phone isn't verizon phone, so verizon's system just goes ahhhhh noooooo and can't tell what the phone is, so it can't see it works just fine. I called verizon and checked with them and the big phone is good to go for the network, so I'm just going to wait and see what happens.

I've never had a good experience getting a phone. It's no fun and I'm really frustrated because I like my little unihertz. I hate phones that break easily and I want to be able to use a phone one handed and have it fit in pockets without risk of falling out and apparently that's a tall order these days. I despise the giant phones and the cases make it worse. Pretty sure I'll be good to switch back to my normal phone in a couple of months once their checking is done.

Much sympathy for the frustrating!

"Not on the list" is a highly plausible explanation.

I'm used to using third party websites to check phone compatibility but rather to my surprise GSM Arena doesn't have Unihertz phones and https://drive.google.com/file/d/1dHGPbJD-DvHK6T_bEILbtNfRAyrqz8n6/view is presumably about to be somewhat obsolete. Which is really kinda unhelpful of Verizon.
