I don't remember the week before last but I assume I was busy lol

Monday last week, I got a loom! The person I bought my new spinning wheel from texted me and asked if I wanted a free loom. I said hell yes. She had originally gotten it for free from someone who was moving and lent it to a friend who didn't need it. Said friend of hers was dropping her kid off to university 30 minutes from where I live and just brought it by and dropped it off. It is enormous and will live forever on the first floor because we can't actually get it through any doors without completely disassembling it. They had only taken the back beam off to fit it in the van. I have a book I'm reading to learn how to warp the dang thing.

A large floor loom sits in from of a large glass cabinet. It is a badly taken photo with light coming in the side of the photo.

Tuesday at work we harvested potatoes. So many potatoes. They will be full of research and also delicious.

Wed at work, I processed onion seed and planted garlic. When I got home, F and I attempted to get the heat figured out in the living room. Didn't really happen although we did make progress. Ran into an issue with the previous connector type and the sharkbite so gave up because it was 8pm and it wasn't worth it.

Thursday, I took work off because we hosted a gathering here at the house and we needed food and to put the furniture back into place and clean. Had a mini panic in the grocery store because I didn't have any idea how much food 14 people would eat. I bought plenty of food. Also made bread rolls (that I couldn't eat but they turned out good), brownies and oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. Everyone was able to come, we had a great time.

Friday morning, I drove north and helped shear sheep. The guy I talked to at the fiber fest had a shearing job and I sheared four sheep. The last sheep was unhappy about the situation and at one point managed to jam her head backwards into my jaw, thankfully hitting the muscle rather than anything else so my teeth were fine. Chewing was no fun for two days but I'm basically back to fine now.

Then I packed and headed to my parents because they had a busy busy weekend at the farm. I worked so many hours. The weather was beautiful.

An absolutely beautiful picture of a mountain almost in full fall colors. The sky is bright blue with some fluffy clouds. There is yellow cornstalks in the foreground.

Yesterday morning, I finished planting my garlic and covering them with straw for the winter. Then drove home.

Tonight, I'm doing this wild thing called relaxing.

An imposing loom!

Yay relaxing!

The church-supper thumb rule is that a mass of people will need forty ounces of combined food and drink each. This is an average; if you've got a lacrosse team over, it will be more, if you've got an entire gathering of elderly people it will be less. But as a thumb rule for planning purposes it's not bad.

A LOOM! I am excited to see what you do with it! I've been knitting mitts, endlessly. Not sure why they're so exciting for me, but right now it's all mitts, all the time. I should do a post with some pictures.

Your fall color looks like my fall color. It's a beautiful time of year.
