Yesterday I had a little bit of time in the afternoon and the weather was absolutely beautiful so I hauled the tools outside. I have a lot of small size prints, 3x5s and stickers and other small things that are fairly hard to hang on a log wall. So I picked a spot above my desk which is roughly 4 ft by 4ft and measured out what a reasonable size thing was.

I decided on 3x3 ft of board and used some of the 1x12in planks that I bought ages ago. I cut three lengths of plank to 36 inches, lined them up and attached cross planks that were much thinner to hold them together. I took it inside, held it up and figured out what log would be best to attach to.

Then I stained it with a light stain that I picked up from the store a couple of weeks ago. It dried pretty quick in the sun!

I mounted a 2x4 on the proper log for the top of the board since it would give it some push out at the top and also angle it slightly downward so the dust is less likely to settle on the prints. Then I screwed the board to it and then added three more screws to the center of the boards that went directly into the log. I may remove those and add more screws at the top, it's not the world's best idea to screw things into multiple logs because it prevents the logs from flexing like they should. But for now, six screws and some planks aren't going to be a big deal.

Next step is to figure out how I'm attaching all the prints. I can't find any good information on the internet, google is functionally useless for general inquires these days, so maybe someone reading this will have some good ideas. I don't mind the idea of pins, but the minimum amount for the small prints, so one or two. But idek washi tape? something.

A square of light wood is mounted on the wall of a log home with very dark walls.
