A few happenings.....
Feb. 12th, 2022 05:57 pmThe dogs and cat and I have settled into an okay routine with much yelling for wet food. But Lucy the little dog is happy to walk with us now and has taken to harassing Mara occasionally. The weather is making a giant mess of the snow, it's been above 32F for almost two days and the ice layer has started breaking down so this morning we were falling through it every three or four steps. It's now refrozen since the temperature is rapidly dropping due to 20 mph winds and it should be 10F overnight with a lot of windchill. So we might complete the full loop of the walk, which is quite long but really good. Yesterday morning we were 500 feet or so from the halfway point of the loop with the easier part the second half, all downhill and hooking onto the snowmobile path. This morning we only got 1/4 of the way because of the snow issues.
I'm not sure what time C is getting back but she'll be back tuesday at some point, so I only have three days of house/pet sitting left. Thank goodness because it is tiring to do the food and the walks and the thinking about what I will have for dinner down at the house and what I need to bring back and forth. And Lucy the little dog and Mia the cat LOVE ME and NEED to be close to me AT ALL TIMES. truly exhausting. they are able to bust open the downstairs bathroom door because it's an old farmhouse door that the knob doesn't work and it closes from the frame pinching. I've been using the upstairs bathroom where I can close the door and they can't get it open. I need to do laundry tomorrow or money since right now the laundry is at the house until it gets installed in the barn. Whatever.
I gave in and ordered a switch because the new pokemon game looks right up my alley and I think it'll make me happy. It should arrive on thursday although I know deliveries have been late.
Mara's new cooling bed came in and it is really nice, lightweight and easy to put together. If I want to use it indoors, I need to give it some friction because it is so light that it moves around really easily. I need to check the bag again and see if it came with little friction pads. It is slightly small for Mara, she will fit on it but it will be a squeeze. She seems skeptical, I think because it moved on her.
F and I are calling a real estate attorney on monday to see if we can get a free consult/retain them for figuring out what a good path is for us. We haven't talked to the bank yet but we decided it might be better to have a small contract between us worked out before we went to the bank. But we are making progress! I know the pre-qual from the bank is usually pretty quick so we might be searching soon....
Work conference is tues to thurs next week, I'm doing a small talk and being tech support.
I also started a discord where some women's hockey fans can hang out and chat while the games are live because we all kinda miss the twitch chat from the PHF games in the last few years. If you want to join, let me know and I can get you the discord link.
