The adventures never stop coming
Feb. 5th, 2022 05:12 pmSo the main driving force of my moving last weekend was the fact that I was dogsitting for C from the 5th to the 15th.
Here I am.
C left this morning after their 6am plane was cancelled and they got a 11am plane.
Since C is the friend I'm renting the barn apartment from, I am simply 100 feet from their house. We had planned for me to bring Lucy up to the apartment because C also has a cat who is terrified of Mara, and so the combo of Mara + Lucy + terrified cat was concerning.
Well...
Lucy decided that I was kidnapping her when I brought her up to the apartment around lunch time, not even with her beds and food, just to hang out for an hour or so. She was Unhappy. She was so certain that her people were coming back and she had to be down at the house to see them back.
So I put her back in the house and left her alone for the rest of the afternoon.
And then I put some of my stuff together with Mara's and moved us down to the house. Lucy is still extremely upset with me and with everything but she did eat some wet food. I'm not sure she's going to the bathroom but we'll work on that in the morning and I'll double check the upstairs rooms.
Mara is concerned a little but we've been here before and she has her bed and me and is mostly happy.
The cat is willing to brave Mara for wet food so there's that.
My plan is to spend evenings and nights down here at the house, walk the dogs, feed everyone, eat breakfast and then head up to the apartment for work or just hanging out, eat lunch, walk the dogs, feed Mara at the apartment, eat dinner down at the house and repeat.
If Lucy is still really upset in a few days, I may call in the backup option which is friend's of C's who took care of her before.
Chaos!
