Fiber goal for 2020 (and beyond)
Feb. 1st, 2020 03:02 pmI've been spinning lately, and I picked up a variety of roving already from a bunch of different types of sheep and I thought, there's a bunch. What if I try and spin all of them?
because I can't remember shit when I just pick something up and look at it, or read about it. I want to actually spin each type of sheep breed, make little skeins of one, two and three ply and write some notes and sit it on a shelf to look pretty. I thought about buying a variety pack which does exist on the internet but that's no fun.
I'm going to do it with undyed wool, possibly locks if I get them like the gotland already and I'm aiming to buy an ounce of roving/wool for each type. I suspect I can pick up a lot of them at the MD sheep and wool, which I'm planning to go to with friends this year that I haven't seen in a while. A standard braid of roving is four ounces but at the festivals you can buy any amount of ounces because they separate it right from the ball and weigh it.
So here's the list. It's a lot! (ETA: I tried to put a cut, but it didn't like it at all, sorry)
