(no subject)

 Life has suddenly turned to chaos once again. I mean, it's that time of the year. I'm heading to PA this weekend but I need to pack up my truck tonight. Work tomorrow is harvesting a sweet potato variety trial and it is 2 hours south of where I live. But that farm is only 2 hours from my parents, so all in all, it will save me a lot of hours to just bring the dog and all my stuff with me. Except I need to pack up tonight.... there is paving happening tomorrow morning and our vehicles need to be out of the lot by 7:30. Joy. No easy loading of dog in the morning, that's for sure. Mara is happy to hang out in the truck, she mostly sleeps and noms treats as long as she gets a midday walk, she's happy. Last time, she got to beg cheese off a coworker while we ate lunch and was thrilled. I'm taking Monday off work so I can get some things done in my field, which should be digging root crops, rototilling and planting garlic (plus mulching them with straw). I'll probably rototill the rest of my field in on the 19th weekend and plant rye just to spread the amount of stuff to do out. 

Last night, I had to take Jade to urgent care because a trainee somehow dropped a pallet of boxes on her finger. She told him to stop so she could get something out from under the pallet, she reached under, and he dropped it instead. Thankfully, it wasn't broken, just really badly bruised and I had to convince her to take today off because it was going to hurt more today. She's got tomorrow off, so hopefully it won't hurt as much by the time she goes back to work saturday. She had to fill out a million miles of paperwork for the whole incident and apparently the trainee didn't even apologize at all. 

I'm leaving the office shortly to drive north and deliver the apples I picked this morning and one extremely gross kale plant to a coworker. He doesn't have a truck, so that kale plant is going in his car and it smells a little like death. It's in a cardboard box, but that doesn't help at all. 

I'd love to get some spinning done...
