So I got back from work meeting yesterday, walked the dog and then made two types of cake, a triple batch of pastry cream and some strawberry jam.

It only took me four hours or so.

things I did not think about: I'm dropping some of this at the A farm this afternoon, which is closer to work than the apartment. So I needed to make ganache and assemble the cakes this morning. Which I did. After walking the dog and getting over an hour of sidejob work done.

I forgot to eat breakfast except for a lot of pastry cream.

Why am I like this.

But either way, I'm leaving work a little early, dropping flax seeds and cake at A farm, heading home, packing up and heading to PA. It's supposed to rain today but not more than a half inch, so I should be able to rototill my field tomorrow afternoon. I'll lay out the row markers and get all my supplies around in the morning.

 So.

I am not in PA.

I am back in my apartment in NY.

I left later than I meant to, work running long, which delayed my trip over to the A farm to drop seeds to B and then waffling about whether to go or not so I got on the road at like, 5pm.

Okay I say, that's fine.

It's snowing. That's also fine I say. No one else thought it was fine. There were three accidents on 87 (I only go five miles on it) another right after I got through the toll booth and one right as I got on 88. This is weird but okay I said. Kept moving, got about an hour into my trip and then we come to a complete stop. There were no exits for several miles back and it was three or four miles to the next exit.

We sat for about a half hour and I just decided that when we got through, I was going to turn back. My ETA was after 9pm I know I was getting tired and I was extremely glad I turned at the next exit because around 7:30 I got the first wave of tired and after I got back and started unloading, I got another big tired wave.

So I'm home for the weekend and I'll probably take a day off work next weekend and stay at my parents longer. I should have listened to my gut but all in all, I just wasted some gas and time, so it's okay.

A boston creme pie sitting in my fridge.

I now have a much better pastry creme to cake ratio.
