I did many things today.
I went back to the A Farm to help out again. I arrived at five of 9 and promptly was roped in to helping wrangle pigs. They needed to be moved from the barn where they live to the barn that is easy to load out of and these barns are maybe 100 ft as the crow flies but maybe 250 or 300 feet in actual travelable land. we fenced off some areas and then walked around with plexiglass poles as our guides.
the way you wrangle a pig is to wave the poles at them, hope they go the right way and if they don't, whack them in the face with the pole. So. wrangled some pigs. five went nicely, no hitting, just aggressive body language with a brief break to play in the puddles. Two, Annie and Zack got a cattle panel out and just slowly pushed them down the hill with me acting as the side block as needed and waving my poles. (sidenote, they had someone (mark might have been his name), I said good morning to Annie and he thought I was saying good morning to him and he said "salutations" back, which what the fuck)
It was interesting.
Then I helped transplant cold season crops into the high tunnel. I found out that I have no ass muscles because I was kneeling and leaning over the bed and I got sore super fast doing that and then I had to get inventive to sit. I couldn't figure out how to get the plants out of the tiny cells without breaking them up so Aaron popped them out of the trays, laid them down and I pushed them into the ground. We got everything planted in by 2 or so. Annie made delicious potato hash stuff in the skillet and I ate a lot.
She also finished off the brownies I left yesterday :)
And then she gave me three dozen B grade eggs so I get to make more things :)))
and then I promptly dropped four eggs on the floor when I turned the carton so I'm not that smart because I had forgotten in about 20 minutes not to turn the carton. oh well. more eggs to come.
I then packed up, realized my birth control was due to be renewed because I was literally on my last two pills and then realized I hadn't done the dishes. So I got dishes done, dumped my stuff in the truck, loaded Mara up after I walked her and headed out. thankfully the pharmacy was on the way so I got my perscription and left.
only a little traffic because of a cleared out crash and someone getting pulled over, which *eyes roll* just keep moving people. the cops were Out today, I saw a lot
now I'm in PA, it's rainy and I'm going to be pruning raspberries tomorrow. I doubt I'll be able to get any field preparation done since it rained here like all day. But it's fine. I had a long internal debate on whether to bring my seeds and didn't end up doing it because it would be annoying. shrugs.
