I haven't actually posted since friday during work, which is unusual for me right now

Friday night we drove into the city to get mexican food at a place we hadn't been to before. It was decent but not worth the drive on a friday night. Not really better than the stuff we get for delivery lmao.I got chili pork tamales which sounded like a great idea except instead of doing flat tamales, they did round ones, like a meatball. Unfortunately to get that shape, you have to make the masa really thick and it is a very unplesant texture when it's that thick. stodgy is a good word.

 I got the marinade done. I want to make the vindaloo for lunch. I also need to do laundry and I should probably go start that now. ugh.

 I made the vindaloo recipe again and the potatoes didn't really cook. again. 

I boiled them in the stew for over an hour and some of them were still not cooked texture. They weren't hard but they were very odd. They were all in 1/2 thick or less pieces. I wonder if the lemon juice was stopping them from cooking? I can't figure it out. 

But lesson learned, cook potatoes separately. 

It could have been the type of potatoes but I just cooked that variety on friday as a whole potato in water and it boiled in a reasonable amount of time. hmmmmmmmm
