Today: go to skating and then sit out on the balcony because today is beautiful weather

by this weekend: 

• bake something
• vacuum (seriously) 
• come up with food for next week (I've got mostly ground meat, maybe meatballs? I've never done them)
• buy seed starting supplies
• clear my table 
• make one post about baking
• see movie with jade

other stuff that would be nice

• buy gloves
• buy medium weight coat
• start herbs and roots

Any particular kind of gloves?

I need a thin pair of gloves to wear for skating and when the weather is cool but not cold. I probably ought to also pick up another pair of work gloves because mine have disappeared again.

I don't get these (I get the milspec ones that DO NOT have a wool lining, because I get contact dermatitis from wool) but the price-performance is pretty good.

Oooh. I actually just found my work gloves although I'll definitely keep those in mind if I want to splurge. I generally take a cheap but many view with work gloves because I mostly lose them instead of wearing them out.

Yay! finding gloves.

I hardly ever lose gloves (compulsive about stuffing them jacket pockets) so I do worry about wearing them out. Varusteleka had some elk hide gloves last summer and I got a couple pair and am glad I did. Don't seem to be there now or I would have suggested those. :)

I'm pretty good at keeping my winter gloves around, I think I've had them for three or four years now but my work gloves end up all over. Sometimes I set them down on truck bumpers or on wagons or wherever and then they're never to be seen again.

Those look really nice though.

Work gloves are pretty fungible, yeah. Even if they stay off the agon there's always the chemicals. (Or the day it's time to move a lot of cinder blocks.)

The folks who run Varusteleka are tact-deficient but really really practical. The stuff they carry as "we went out and got this" (as distinct from "this is surplus, you're taking your chances") tends to be sound.
