Aaron and Annie actually discussed the possibility of saffron crocuses at length, and settled on the idea of growing them in bread trays that they could then haul up out of the ground and stack in storage for the winters. But they didn't get around to starting it. Still, it's on the list.
I think that was the conclusion the A-team came to, as well-- no one IRL would care at all and also it's before the CSA season but how neato would it be to have saffron???
IDK the plant selling site that the Tumblr post linked to had a planting guide in the listing and it said zone 6!! which like. OK. I think the farm's zone 5 but I'm zone 6 so maybe I'll put in a raised bed in my front yard by the driveway and grow them there!!!! (My backyard is too soupy.)
