Here I thought I was getting wild, jumping directly into a project with no real robotics experience. I got nothing on this dude. The most I can break is like $100 worth of tiny parts.
Generally with Arduino stuff people do just jump in. And generally they're doing something like you're doing, where even if the project somehow turns itself into a pillar of fire, it won't hurt much.
