The coincidental house in these pictures gives me a much clearer sense of the lay of the land you've been describing.

Not sure I've seen a "the whole roof is an end gable" approach like that before.

Also, hurrah for a complete lack of plummeting!

Well, they took what was a log cabin and just added shit to it, so this is the result. The side porch is off to the left and the hill keeps going up so the second story here on the front is the first floor.

I enjoy not falling off two story roofs :)

Ahhh… now I understand the comments about the steep hill. Wow. I’m very glad that you were cautious. That’s a helluva fall.

Also - pretty house! I love the balcony.

haha, we sure got hills. And it keeps going up behind the house. Around the left is the side porch and the main entry to the house that is the first floor, it rises up a floor in a short about of hill.

The balcony is one of my favorite things. I frequently eat breakfast out there in the warm season.
