Misc Week
Sometime around Monday, F came to me and said we were hosting Easter for her family. Cool, I said. Later realized I actually had no idea when Easter was and some friends told me it was this weekend.
Related to this, I broke my vacuum. Most times, I sweep the floor with a broom and either vacuum it up or just use a dust pan. But we do have some rugs and things that need a vacuum and I clean Mara's dog beds with a vacuum. The suction is gone on it and it makes an extra loud sucking noise after about five seconds that I can't figure out where it's coming from. Given it's six years old and has lasted that long with all the Mara hair, I'm willing to call it dead and get a new one.
I just bought some Tunis roving from Tarheelbilly Farm Etsy shop here. It is beautiful stuff. I was expecting more down like wool with 3D crimp but it more resembles Romney or medium wool. Shiny, pretty. I'm going to see if I can get a fleece someday.
The Women's Hockey World Championships are happening right now with three games a day, so I camped out in the living room and worked while watching those. All the games yesterday were a little lopsided but today's should be very fun and exciting games.
I spent the time in between periods of hockey and games to write a cover letter and edit my resume for a really good job not too far from me. I submitted it this morning. We'll see. It is only a little bit higher level work for at least10k more than I make now. Long commute but probably worth it.
I need to make food some some sort after I get groceries, I've been eating a lot of peanut butter as snack lately. Not bad but getting a little bored of it. Also need to make granola and ice cream.
The work Wed class last night was cancelled last minute because our speaker didn't have power due to ice storms in Canada. It's starting to irritate me how late in the season it's dragging. For good reasons like the weather, but dang we just need to wrap it up. The Thursday night ones are almost done thankfully, they'll definitely be done next week so I'll get my Thursday nights back. The Wed night sessions will be continuing through the season, although they'll be two nights a month at best. Still annoying but oh well.
Things I need to do Saturday: Taxes, grocery shopping, junk run to the transfer station, side job work, clean (some of that today)

The downside is it is pricy.

For carpets or rugs, the canister does have a rigid wand with a handle that runs a beater bar. That same extension tube is handy for removing spider webs from the ceiling. The hose on the canister version is nice and flexible and easy to use. The hose on the upright version is quite stiff and not at all friendly to use. No bags or the like, the canister detaches from the unit and can be carried to wherever you want to dump it. We often walk it out to the compost pile.
