Don't go shopping all, please please please

My roommate is staring down Black Friday with dread. Even though she's on overnights, the store decided not to be open on thanksgiving, so her shift starts at like 2am black friday and runs until 11am. 

So she'll be in the store with people ew. 

She brought it up and we both agreed she should get covid tested the week after because if she's gonna catch it, it will be then. Overall community spread is still relatively low, and our county is doing better than the state average despite being a city. 

I have started making packing lists for Isocation and cleaning out my truck in anticipation of all the things I will need to pack. I might find some tubs or boxes and just pack into those for easier tetris-ing into my truck, things like clothes and bedding

I've also determined that I will need to bring most of my house plants with me. I've only got four or so in relatively small pots that will be easy enough to bring. I'll just have Jade water my tumeric tub once while I'm gone and I will water my saffron bulbs before I go. I'm keeping a very close eye on my succulents, they seem fine-ish but I've been battling aphids that are primarily in my crystalline plants which I'm waiting for those to set seed. Frequent applications of soapy water and most seem to be dead now. I also need a new spot for a pothos, who doesn't like the grow light and who I accidently dropped my curtain rod on the other day. 

I think I'm going to take most of next week off just for relaxing time. I started a very cute new game on switch called Spiritfarer which is almost a stardew valley esque game but more sidescroller style and extremely cute. You take Charon's job over and guide spirits but while sailing around on a really cool house boat that you build. Very much fun. 

Anyway. Life continues on

Not that I'm anywhere in the vicinity, but most definitely not going shopping.

Hope everything goes so well as can be for Jade and for you.

Hockey bags -- which can be found in cheap/minimalist forms hereabouts -- are another option for tetrising clothes and bedding into a truck, at least if it's never been used as an actual hockey bag.

Oh yeah! I have a giant sports bag somewhere, perhaps in the bags container. I will have to dig it out.

I have a spare real N95!! I found four of them in my basement!! Does Jade want one?? I'm coming to the farm today. IDK, they really suck to wear, and I feel like for real work they're not that good at protecting you because you need to like do a whole process just to scratch your nose and you're gonna wind up doing it without realizing at an important time, so. IDK.
(I'm wearing one on the train. I need to get a pen so I can scratch my nose without getting my gross hands in there. Yeah, a pen is the answer. Oh my god why is my nose constantly itchy. Really brings it home-- the first time I wiggled my finger into my mask to scratch my nose I suddenly could smell somebody's perfume, which like, ah fuck.)

oh gosh, house plants. That does seem like a whole pain to have to bring tho because it's not like you can even leave them in the car.

I'm glad you can do a bit of relaxing!! I haven't even put the fucking, thingy, back on my spinning wheel. Maybe after Thanksgiving-chaos is over i'll have time. Sigh.

I think she's alright. I think she's got one or two she's saved from ages ago. It's just fuck black friday for realz. It's funny how certain masks are more or less itchy. The disposables I've worn all day in the field for work aren't too bad but some of the fabric ones are just so itchy (may be due to dog hair).

House plants should be okay, the place I'm staying is a house and my mom is finally cleaning out my old bedroom so I might actually have a place to stick everything while I'm there.

I've been like, aggressively relaxing because if I don't I'll go bonkers so there's that. There's been a few videos just come out for the kickstarter electric wheel I backed and honestly, I'm getting more and more excited for that too. Something to look forward to February for.
