We will continue to be without internet until friday because the service person needed access to some kind of internet closet on the property that maintenance will have to open. Jade is Very Mad.

I've decided to use this week as an opportunity to get things done. My goals are: clean my room, use up some things in the freezer. I have a lot of blueberries so I want to use up one gallon of blueberries. I currently have three, all from last year. I'm going to start with muffins i think and then maybe scones that I can freeze. I'm not super fond of fruit pies but maybe combined with something or as a turnover idek. Any ideas?

Maple-blueberry sausage! Highly traditional (meat with fruit is a Medieval European thing) and I think you've got a fair bit of ground venison around?

If the first batch works, you can always use it as meat pie filling.

Sympathies, as someone who's also dealing with internet problems. The tech today replaced all the lines from the box to my condo, so hopefully that's the end of it...

oh man. i put frozen blueberries in my yogurt every single workday, and i go through a gallon every couple of weeks that way, so that sounds like indescribable luxury.
(I currently do have a quart bag full I harvested myself, though, which is an extra bit of loveliness.)

oh i saw your corn flour grinding on Stories, too, how cool!

hmm my very favorite thing in the world is blueberry pie and i never get any so i am at a total loss as to how to recommend anything else. i thought i'd come up with something when i opened this window but now i'm kind of in a fugue state dreaming of blueberry pie. (i cannot BELIEVE i was not able to con any of my family into making me a blueberry pie this year when they were in season. sigh.)

i would probably die if i had no internet for a week. like, i mean, phones help, but. oh gosh i would probably die. i don't blame jade one bit.

Alas, I am not back until the 15th I think, I'm covering a co-worker's vacation. It's a pain in my patoot, I have all this stuff to do at the farm-- my flax is all in the greenhouse and needs rippling, the Japanese indigo is probably blooming and I should process it, and there's all this stuff I need to work on and I'm stuck here. Boohoo!

I don't know which vendors are going on Wednesdays. We're not, Wednesdays are pickup day so there's nobody who can be spared, but some vendors are-- I think it was a way for them to let in some new vendors too, there's been some bad feelings over not being able to allow in some great candidates.

Ha, you don't have to actually make me a pie. I was just being put-out by how much of my mother's attention is taken up with the whims of grandchildren instead of the whims of me, anymore. (Though, the oldest boy has taught himself to bake pies because he likes pies so much, which I'm rather impressed by-- he's 11 and does a creditable pie crust from scratch.)

We always call blueberries bloobs and in fact the frozen quart bags we put away into the freezer (and have probably mostly already used, by now, as well) are all labeled "BLOOB". And the strawberries are labeled "STRAWB", because my sister thinks that's funny.

The market is happening tomorrow, they posted a list of vendors! It's not super many but I think it's already some new ones, so that's interesting.
