It's vinyl flooring. I wanted the flexibility so I could bend it down the sides of the counters to get smoothness that wouldn't result in stuff catching. And it's very cheap. I know there is laminate sheets you can buy for counters, but also premade counters if you have standard size things. It hasn't been as difficult as I thought it would be, but I'm also not doing a full tear out either. Continuing the use the countertop slabs that are already there has helped a lot especially with the sink stuff.

It's funny that you say you wouldn't want to tackle it, because I still haven't tackled the tree that fell in the yard and I've been admiring your massive tree cutting projects these last few days.
