RIP truck battery

I got up this morning and decided to grab some groceries. Went and tried to start my truck, engine turned over and then it wouldn't start. womp womp. I grabbed F's jump pack (I had asked to borrow hers for the trip down to my parents since I wasn't 100% sure my truck would make it), hooked it up and it started right up! So that meant the starter was fine and given I'd been driving around, probably the alternator was fine. I thought about it and decided to call my garage and see if they could fit me in. They're really really good and they got me in at 9. I was hesitant to go to autozone and I could have done it myself but like, I don't need to, I will pay someone to do it. Especially because the batteries tend to be around $200, so I'm happy to pay for someone else to do it really well.

I sat and read a book, they had it all replaced in a half hour and it only cost me $240 for a new battery. They said my old one had a good run but the super cold would really kill an older battery. So I'm pleased and now have a running truck.

comments

I finally got the truck to make the weird noise at the mechanics this morning and it's a bad bearing in my air compressor

so I need a new air compressor which is anywhere from 600 to 1000 dollars

fucking yay

it only has 48k miles on it! that's it! Why me!

I'll get it fixed probably in April. ugh ugh ugh.

comments

in a truly exciting turn of events, my truck decided to lose its shit this morning.

It was fine until I was idling at the train crossing in town and it just randomly decided to rev really high and not accelerate much. I managed to get it home but my garage doesn't have an opening until tomorrow so I just need to figure out when to get it up there.

So I'm working from home today and possibly tomorrow! Not what my plan was!

comments
