hilariously, my switch did come yesterday. at 7:30pm.
I did not receive an "out for delivery" notice and assumed it hadn't made it on the truck. UPS was being extremely sparse with information on where it was in the first place and I figured if it hadn't arrived by 5:30pm or so when drove to down for takeout, it would come today.
Well, I got a "delivered" notice at 7:30pm that I saw at 7:45 and had to scramble to get a coat and headlamp on and slide down the icy hill of doom in the dark to grab it off C's front porch.
I got it all set up last night and downloaded the pokemon game and then went to bed.
This morning around 11am, the wind really picked up and the snow squalls started. I ran to get groceries first thing because I was out of bread and I've been enjoying peanut butter toast for lunch in the past few weeks. I also picked up a safety vest for when things aren't super cold and I wear my carhart tan jacket while walking in the woods.
First snow squall warning popped up on my phone and nothing really happened. Second snow squall warning on my phone and then I looked out the window and wow, was that a snow squall. I had maybe 100 feet of visibility from my window. I would definitely not want to be driving in that.
I played pokemon for about 5 hours straight with only food breaks and I'm having a lot of fun with it.
C and her partner were working on the second floor of the barn doing something to the walls. sheetrock maybe? I don't know. Mara was fine with it in the morning, but was supremely offended in the afternoon and she barked a lot. I really didn't care because I was busy with pokemon and she got tired after about an hour of barking.
We just went for a very short walk where neither of us were having fun. Everything is a sheet of icy snow except where we walked when it was wet. It is incredibly windy right now. Mara kept wanting to go down the hill which was a very bad idea because she wouldn't get back up the hill without serious slip issues. I think she wanted to go that way because her back would be to the wind. I brought us back in after 20 minutes when the clouds got dark again and it looked like another small squall rolled through.
